I love real plants and have a watering system but have silk flowers here cos when on holiday these wouldn’t get watered from the watering system and look pretty all the year.

Now I’ve always loved gardening from seed but I’m not above putting silk flowers amongst them, I love visitors having to feel to make sure what’s real or notI bring in for winter and ‘replant’ for instant colour in appropriate month

It's a personal thing, but for me all that plastic and man made fibers are bad for the environment.

I think there has been enough damage done to the environment without adding to it. A garden as defined in the English dictionary is a piece of land adjoining a house or building allocated for growing grass, plants or vegetables. Where are the butterflies & bugs, birds & in particular bees and eventually US going to go when all the gardens become fake?

It wouldn't really be a garden if the plants weren't real and living. Just call it another room, albeit outside, and I'm sure they would be fine. But for a garden, no way.

I've got really bad eyesight & I can usually tell from quite a distance, also they fade because of the sunlight & don't look to good pretty quickly. Real multiply by themselves, change the look of the garden throughout the seasons, produce scent, attract pollinators & other wildlife, reduce CO2 , lock in carbon, can be given as gifts, brought inside to add colour & scent, gardening is also good for mental health & gentle physical exercise (if you don't let small jobs turn into big jobs) & you can also grow your own organic food too.

Absolutely not. My personal opinion, but artificial flowers make me think of graves. Gardens aren't meant to be "pretty" all year round.

I love real garden plants but my garden floods with the slightest rain and if that doesnt kill them somehow i do so have some artificial ones.

Personally I'd have low maintenance plants rather than plastic outdoors as no matter how much you pay they fade with time and unfortunately will never look like the real thing, especially when out of season. When my children were small had a large garden and planted shrubs that needed hardly any maintenance and had a few pots and hanging baskets for added colour in the summer. My children had their own area where they planted sunflowers and runner beans.

I bought some beautiful pots of fake flowers for my patio at my previous address. It was a covered space, plus fairly enclosed so they did well, although there was some fading in the sun. None of them were plastic. When I moved I sold them all as I have a real garden now

Yes for certain areas. Hanging baskets and trees for pots. Lasted me about 5yrs. I take them in in winter. But still have plants and trees. Its just an instant look.

I like them even though I love gardening. I can never look after hanging baskets so I have a couple of faux baskets, they do tend to fade though but are great for instant impact
