My website speed has always been pretty decent, but the landing page scores differ quite a bit in different ads even though I configure it the same way.

There is no trick. Just put good content on the pages and make them as user-friendly as possible. The rest is in God's hands. Google just gives a liter of Vodka to a chimpanzee. After 20 mins, they let the chimpanzee give your landing page a score. You could imagine that the results might vary wildly depending on the chimpanzee. The angry drunks will rate Below Average. The happier ones will give you Above Average

Right now even exact match is not exact so you can say main keyword must be 1 time other closely coupled theme terms will enough
