I have an Echo Show and have now set it up to immediately show the doorbell video when it is pressed. Does anyone know if you can set it up to immediately show the video when motion is detected but the doorbell not pressed?

How did you get it to immediately show the video when the doorbell is pressed? I have ask Alexa to show my front door camera.

I copied this from a post and this is how I got mine to work: Are you able to set up ECHO SHOW to automatically view video from RING DOORBELL button presses? 1) If you haven’t already done so, UPDATE your Amazon Alexa app. (Select Update in your device app store for the app for the latest update. ) 2) If you haven’t already done so, enable the RING SKILL in your Amazon Alexa app. (Select the Menu button at top-left in the Amazon Alexa app. Select Skills & Games. Search for and ENABLE the Ring Smart Home skill, and then run through the simple set up. ) 3) In the Amazon Alexa app select the Menu button at top-left. 4) Select ‘Settings’. 5) Select ‘Device Settings’. 6) Select the Ring Video item that you already named in step 2 above. You may have called it something like Front Door but it doesn’t matter. 7) Verify that ‘Doorbell Press Announcements’ is turned ON. 8 ) Click on the text ‘Announcement Devices’. (It’s there, just above the button in step 7. ) 9) Verify that your Alexa Show is selected.

@fowlkes1 I have my Echo’s configure as you stated but I only get the announcement when the Ring Door Bell is pressed. It does not automatically bring up the video.

@nelia Hmmm. I know it didn’t work the first two or three times I tried it, but eventually it did. The main thing is that you need the latest update on the Alexa app. Maybe someone else can chime in here and give you some suggestions.

@fowlkes1 what version are you on? my Echo Show is on 6. 5. 3. 6 (no update is needed)

@nelia i posted this last week,  I will try to explain how I did it. Spend an hour try to figure it out and a lot of googling. 1. Disabled ring skill 2. Reenable ring skill 3. Screen came up allowing me to link my ring account to my alexa account. 4. That should add your doorbell to you echo devices. 5. Go to devices in the alexa app find your doorbell and turn on “all doorbell press announcement”. Good luck.
