Has anyone mounted the Ring doorbell directly to the brick moulding where the doorbell was? Was this wide enough? What did you do?

A Pro barely fit mine. It’s a little twisted. But worked out ok.

@grub is there a gap back behind it?
by (640 points)
The angle it puts it at actually helps get the brick out of the view of the camera.

@mystery710 it was getting bad here. I know people are trying to do their jobs. But, it was almost everyday.

We've had the sign for a couple years. ;) A lot less times for the dogs to "go off" now. oy lol

Yes. I did have to make a small wooden shim to have it sit flat as the storm door frame overlaps. I also used a wedge that came with the kit.

I have a storm door too. Thanks for sharing the picture!

I'm going to see if someone can 3D print something maybe.

I should have gotten the ring pro
by (300 points)
@rettarettig4 why? Smaller?
by (550 points)
@explosive5 you can’t tell from this angle, But the ring is hanging off and only half the camera is mounted to the wall

@rettarettig4 I saw that when I made to photo bigger

@explosive5 the Ring pro is not as wide as the other doorbells. I had to return the one I got and buy the pro because my door frame is narrow

@excurvature I think even the pro is wider than your door frame

@rettarettig4, contact Ring about their upgrade program. some people have posted in here how they talked to Ring and were able to pay a fee to upgrade from a RVD1 or 2 to a pro.

@pentosan53231 I’ll try. They still owe me a refund for the doorbell solar charger

@rettarettig4 don’t back down, give em hell if they’re not honoring what they said.

I did and used the angle mount back plate that came with it.

We did. My husband cut a block of wood to position the doorbell past the brick. We now see the entire porch.
