My Elite doorbell stopped working the other day. It doesn't seem to have any power going to it. I have a smart home and the access point box is also dark, I have tried rebooting the router several times, Comcast box & router seem to be working okay. What am I missing?

Do you have a Ethernet hub in that box? Hub is bad maybe check power to hub if you have one or if useing the power injector check that also.

@daryldaryle Main box has power, but the distribution router is dark, I have plugged & unplugged several times, still nothing, I know I'm missing something obvious

By Distubution router do you mean a ethernet switch/hub? Can you take a photo of it.

@daryldaryle yes, it's a Ruckus R510

The elite doorbell is a ethernet connection and either requires a PoE injector or a ethernet PoE with to supply both power and signal but it sounds like you have lost power to your AP router and also to what ever your Elite is plugged into. Is there a circuit breaker or more likely is there a GFCI outlet that has tripped.

@daryldaryle Checked all the breakers, I'll double check GFCI's

@profusive63924 The thing is that is the AP is separate and the elite could be plugged into the back of the AP if it has ethernet ports but if that is the case it would need the PoE injector. Can you unplug the AP and plug somthing like a desk lamp into the same outlet to check for power, maybe your AP died.

@daryldaryle I believe it is hardwired during construction, do you think I should try plugging the CAT cable into a different port on the router?

I checked connections again, AP box draws it's power from ethernet cable. All connections good, tried different port, no change, beginning to think problem is with AP itself

@profusive63924 Sounds possible. You know what you gotta do now. Goodluck.

@daryldaryle thanks for your help

@profusive63924 if you got it from Amazon ordered new it says free tech support might be worth a call to see if you can get a replacement

@profusive63924 Oh by the way I checked specs on Amazon and I am unclear as to how it is being powered. It says it needs a 12v 1Amp adapter (most people have one around the house) or can be powered through one of the two built in ports must be the one labeled PoE but requires a separate PoE injector Or be connected to a PoE Switch. Frankly I am VERY unclear as to how it is connected and and not ready to rule out the power source as the problem what ever that might be. Any chance of a photo of the box where everything is located.

Seems like bad poe switch since access point and elite is off. Both require poe so I’d check the switch they are plugged into or look for 2 poe injectors.
