I know Crestron is considered the top of the top but when you hear nothing but praise for Control4, what is going to Crestron above Control4/Savant getting you? I love the look of their stuff for sure but what makes Crestron better worth it over Control4/Savant?

@harodjamin @franzoni9026 Whittle there is good and bad in all the systems, but Crestron offers any level of control and interface options from simplistic template based (like C4 and Savant) to blank canvas, anything goes programming and interfaces.

@franzoni9026 crestron is great if you only have deep pockets but a solid interface.

@kelikeligot , this is not true anymore. Systems of these caliber will be priced competitively. All quotes that we do seems to be on par with each other. Savant/C4/Crestron/Elan. it is definitely picking what brand do you like.

It is a good system. Not for everyone, but if you are looking to do more than just AV it's the way to go.

@linn8 i have it in my movie room and on my lights. But since the IOS update it doesn’t work and I need to get the system looked ant and probably upgraded. I like it but hate that anytime I have to add something I have to call in the guy for $100 an hour.

Every system has plus and negatives decide what is important for you and what you want to do in the future and do research. I install C4 , Elan and URC.

I would be a fan if it wasn't dependent on a dealer configuring it. If I can't have access to do it myself I'm not interested.

As far as dealer serviced platforms go it's one of the best. Regarding your other comment - is it an iOS update on your phone that made it stop working or the new OS for Control 4? C4's OS3 did brick some legacy devices but I really hope your dealer would have advised before going through with update. That said, it improved the interface A LOT and depending on your use could be a worthwhile upgrade. Also, For the new phone, you might want to check to make sure you're using the OS2 app. The first app you're going to see is for OS3 and if i recall correctly the OS2 app might actually be listed as a watch app.

Nope, when i was a dealer it was incredibly painful when hardware upgraded

Creation is awesome and expensive. I had it for 6 years In my house and worked great. The only problem I found is it’s only as good as the programmer and unfortunately hard to come by a good programmer in my area. Switched to savant and seen it evolve huge since the world of hand held devices.

14 years in the industry and IMO it's the best overall elite level control system out there. It's the most affordable also in the big 3 (C4, Creston, Savant)
