So I use Alexa for controlling my devices. I set my bedroom Alexa to turn my lights off by just sayin “Alexa lights off”. I don’t recall how I did this, when I try to turn off all my kitchen lights, she always says, “there are multiple devices with lights in the name”. Can someone assist by chance?

Groups. Put the lights and the Alexa device in the same room.

@terpsichore that’s the weird thing. It is in the group and designated as the sole device as kitchen. Also. All the lights are checked off as a kitchen light. It’s basically set up identical to my bedroom setup.

Sounds like it’s literally describing the problem? Do you also have multiple light devices in the bedroom group with “lights” in the name? None of mine have that word in them. “Kitchen pendants” “kitchen cans” “kitchen table” for example. Adding the word lights is redundant.

@terpsichore I’ll try that. All do have lights in the name. Seems to be taking a while to update to device.

I have that sometimes. I think I’m those instances it’s because didn’t speak clear enough and Alexa only picked up the word “lights” clearly. I have 4 different “. lights”. When I repeat the sentence clearly she does what she needs to do

@siebert Ripple Is your Kitchen Alexa device added under the group? If that’s missing from the group, it may be causing the issue.

@ity3 it is. At first it was multiple echoes then I moved and changed it, so I thought that was it. It is an echo show, so I don’t know if that’s it or what. Kinda frustrating. It’s just a choice of words, instead of lights I say kitchen. But I just don’t know why I can say “lights” in my bedroom and I can’t in my kitchen. The only difference is I have smart bulbs in my bedroom and switches in my kitchen.
