Question

We are installing an above ground pool in the coming weeks and are researching smart home safety options. I know nothing is fool proof and we will be taking all obviously precautions but curious if anyone has any recommendations? We will have a deck and a gate.

Not smart home but safe home - look up pool alarms. They are a device that sits on the side pool deck and drop down into the pool. When an object over 15lbs enters the pool an alarm goes off - think burglar alarm siren. IMO way better than a smart alert or text to a phone ‍♂️

I use a smart things multi sensor on the gate to the pool. When the gate is opened, I get a push notification. When the gate has been open 30 seconds, it starts the pool pump (if it’s not already on) I also have an old fashioned padlock on the gate.
