I have 1 3-way switch in my house that doesn't have a neutral for whatever reason. Can you recommend a neutral less 3-way for me? Zigbee, zwave, wifi, I am not picky. Thanks!

Have you checked to see if the other light switch attached to the three way switch has a neutral wire in the box? I know GE's new light switches don't require a neutral wire, but I'm not sure if they are available.

@obelisk yea neither box has the neutral, I was surprised!

@rap718 this is what I am planning in my basement where the switch controls an outlet for the lights and doesn't have a neutral at either switch.

Can it be a dimmer? If so, Inovelli all the way. If it's an LED, you might need a bypass for it. I have this exact scenario in our half story upstairs that we turned into a bedroom and used the inovelli Red Series dimmer. I have a dumb switch on the other end, but you can use an add on switch or another smart switch too I believe.

Annoying to find out after the fact, but the switches are great. I have 6 so far and plan to purchase more. Just make sure you budget for extra switches.

@strongwilled no extra hub needed. Just an add-on switch so you can control from both places. If you want dimming/scene control at both spots, you could also get an extra inovelli dimmer and use that as your add-on

@dallasdalli2 so 2 inovellis wired the same way on both ends will do it?

@strongwilled you'd have to look up the wiring, but you essentially wire them both up and then associate them together in smartthings so they mirror each other

@dallasdalli2 thanks I appreciate it

I'll second the inovelli dimmer suggestion. And even if you want it to act as a switch, you can just set the ramp rates to 0 and it's near instant on/off

Cool thank you, I just ordered an Inovelli unboxed from their website!

Inovelli dimmer for sure. like mike said, just set the ramp rates to 0 and you should be fine if you don't want the dimming feature.

Inovelli by far the best solution. Great hardware and awesome support.
