Just tried installing am Inovelli z-wave dimmer w/o a neutral wire. The light switch connects to 6 9watt LED bulbs (so the load is over 25 watts). Once the switch is installed, flip back on the breaker, and turn the lights back on, the bulbs rapidly flicker at full brightness. Lights continue to flicker even when I try shutting off the light. Only way to turn it off is to flip the breaker. Bulbs are Feit B30 LEDs. Supposed to work with a dimmer. Any idea what's going on here?

Try setting the switch type in the device settings.

You might have to disregard this post. I erroneously thought this came from the hubitat group

Try a standard bulb and see if it works. It could be that the bulb is not compatible with that switch.

I just installed an Inovelli dimmer in a hallway that controls a single 14. 4w led and it flickers as it ramps up but once on it's fine and you can actually dim back down successfully. I guess what I'm saying is that its not specifically the wattage that is your issue.

You might need a device like the Lutron MLC

Check the config settings. If those are right, you may need the aeotec bypass they mention.

I wouldn't trust that your bulbs are actually 9W (or that the threshold is exactly 25W). I had a similar issue with an LED that was technically rated over the limit and the bypass solved it. Edit: and by "similar" I mean it was exactly the same experience

I suggest to try incandescent bulbs first. I just RMA'd one from red series, that had a similar flickering on incans. Or try bypass.

I have had Feit bulbs that flicker when not on a dimmer (purchased from Costco). I have an Innovelli dimmer w/o neutral as well. The load on that is very close to 25w and they only flicker minimally when dimmed (no Feit bulbs on that dimmer).

Are the Feit BR30 bulbs dimmable?
