So I guess my hub won't f****** power on. Thinking about switching to Hubitat instead of buying a new one. Which leads me into my question, do I have to exclude everything in IDE in order to pair to a new hub?  this is my first ever problem with Smartthings, which makes it bittersweet.

If it's your first ever problem and you love ActionTiles, why so quick to make the switch? Does the hub LED not light up at all? If it's a v2, are the batteries removed?

I don't think you an exclude in the ide - you can do it with any hub though.

You can exclude z-wave devices with any hub.

Yes. General exclusion for ZWave devices, device factory reset for Zigbee devices. General exclude does not have to come from your original hub

Thanks guys! I'll probably make the switch to Hubitat and learn SharpTools. Although I really love Actiontiles

On the fence. Most of my automatons are SmartLighting so they are local. But might as well spend just a little extra money and get something superior. No it doesn't light up at all and it has new batteries

@pahari91277 why do you think it is superior. I just switched. Can’t stand the dashboard for managing the devices. It is not a bad product. But wouldn’t say superior.

@pahari91277 superior is relative. Theres plenty of issues with each of the other ones. Hubitat isnlocal sure, but has performance issues with high device environments. HA has a high learning curve, Wink, well it's Wink. Pick your poison.

@booby33 that's the major deterrent for me. No action tiles and the dashboard is SO ugly.

@dynode SharpTools.

@pahari91277 I agree - but it is also a subscription. Looks like a solid product though.

@dynode , here’s a partial picture of my main board using the hubitat dashboard builder. I think it has gotten better than what you might have seen.

I’ll post a full picture tomorrow. Too lazy to get up from bed to take a screenshot. Lol

Lol post it if you want!

@dynode I don’t care about looks. It is not functional. It is slow

You can exclude your devices using the Hubitat hub. You can also backup your Hubitat in case the hub ever drops dead.

Are we sure it’s the hub and not the power source.
by (2.2k points)
@tiffinytiffy0 I've tried another power cord and replaced the batteries. So

@pahari91277 just making sure I’m Just asking. Secondly. You don’t need the batteries.

I have a hubitat I decided I don't want to use. $50 shipped if you're interested.

@hexateuch does it have the z-wave stick or is it the v2?

I just switched about a month ago, but I LOVE it. Everything is way quicker to execute. HA 's rule engine is super powerful if a little slow and clumsy until you get accustomed to it. Biggest problem I have is a fe devices that won't work with HA (samsung oven and fridge) but I linked my ST Hub so I'll get around to doing mappings. The thing I like best is the *customizable" alerts.

@pahari91277 thanks.

Hopefully it's nearly as easy as smartthings/actiontiles

@pahari91277 , it is. I switched just because I was bored with SmartThings. I like it.

So is this the first product you ever owned that quit or doesn’t work? Why would you just jump to not getting a replacement? There are many here who’ve had all versions of the ST hub in operation for many years. I personally have a V2 and V3 that have serviced me well. I surely wouldn’t throw in the towel because of a single failure. In some cases the new V3 hub can be bought for about the same price as any system device.

I wanted a Hubitat when it first came out but ended up with the v2 because it was significantly cheaper at the time. Now that i can get a hubitat for $50, why not? Completely local, and not just SmartLighting

If being very user friendly is the only advantage to staying, why not make the jump?
