Thank you! I’ll be moving over as soon as my hub arrives today.

Do I need SmartThings if I have a hub in my Alexa?
by (1k points)
@cyprus SmartThings and Alexa are different all together. The SmartThings app is free and can connect to hundreds of WiFI devices. If you have ZigBee and ZWave devices you will need a SmartThings hub to connect to them. You can connect your Alexa to SmartThings as well.

The Echo Plus has a Zigbee and ZWave Hub built in and would not need the SmartThings hub.

@halvorsen9683 the echo plus doesn’t have zwave, only ZigBee

That’s good to know. Thank you. Glad I got the SmartThings hub

Luckily I got everything transfered over with no guides. It was pretty seemless. The only 4 things I couldn't transfer were the Wink plugs and relays.

@livonia534 the wink plugs should work. Just pair them and assign the zwave switch device handler to them manually. We are making a custom device handler for them. Feel free to reach out to our support desk to join the BETA

@tuttifrutti Wink said in the email release that you'll have to pay to use the API.

@livonia534 if it’s a zwave plug just exclude it from your wink controller and pair with your ST hub. It’ll work just fine. If it’s wifi then it may not work without a subscription.

@tuttifrutti It's not, it's wifi.

Only thing I have on my wink is the Lutron Connected Bulb Remote and the Sengled lightbulbs. Smartthings doesn't support the Lutron remote.

Gotcha, I was kinda glad I never got into the Lutron.

You just also need the Lutron bridge. Wink was the only hub that directly supported Lutron.
