What's with all the outages recently? I feel like there have been more in the last 2 months than in the 20 months previous to those. Are these due to their efforts to migrate to the new app? Also frustrating that I notice automations aren't working and get the text and email 5-45 minutes later notifying me of said problem.

Just a guess, but what's been happening in the world the last two month?!?

@history85014 maybe I'm being naive but not sure how the 2 things would be related?

No other services I have (sonos, Alexa, lutron, etc) have been affected

@hague I’m with you. There should be no reason for this virus to affect online services.

@hague maybe support people working remotely, eye not on the ball as good as it should be?

@history85014 I’m in charge of infrastructure for a large online company that you interact with daily. We are more wfh than normal but we still do the same job and we can do it from anywhere. My stuff is far more controlled than theirs as well due to security

@history85014 they either have automated systems in place to notify them of outages or they are way behind the times (and ironically at that)

How new is the current mobile app?
by (15k points)
@duckbill the current version or just the "new app" in general? I assume you mean the latter but wanted to confirm. If so, more than 2 years, I think something like 5 years.

@hague the current version. I just joined ST on Thursday, so I don't have background and I'm just learning.

Probably related to simultaneously running two platforms at once.

I haven't had a single "outage" or other issue in over a year - perhaps it's a locale issue? (I am in Silicon Valley with extremely fast/reliable internet, so that may be a contributing factor).
