Asking for advice here.  I have done WW many times before and have always lost weight pretty steadily.Asking for advice here. I have done WW many times before and have always lost weight pretty steadily. I am on blue. This time I lost 7 pounds the first week and now I keep bouncing back and forth with the same 2 to 3 pounds. Gaining and the. Losing them, then gaining them back. I have been on the program for 5 weeks now, with no additional loss beyond that first week. I track everything, I measure my portions, I am very careful. I will confess to drinking about 2-3 beers a few times a week but I always track them. I have gone over my points maybe a total of 4 days, total. But I dipped into my weeklies and tracked everything. I have not added exercise yet but I usually don’t add exercise until about the 8th week. WHAT IS GOING ON?!?

Don’t know if science is what ur looking for but here is what happens (my daughter is a diet, nutrition and exercise coach which is where this comes from! ). So you lose weight slower after the first couple of weeks due to metabolic adaptation. That is the natural slowing of our movement due to a reduction in available energy (less food, less moving). Your body is still moving at it normal rate the first couple weeks because it’s got extra energy to burn but as you get learner the more your body will flight to get back to comfort (fat and happy lol). It’s why we want to track steps and stick to our exercise routines.

@malone it’s a challenge for sure! Then add meds to it and it gets really challenging!

If it was me I'd cut out the beer or cut back and see how it goes. I'm on blue and even with the zero point foods you track it everytime and then adjust when the scale isnt going the way you want it to.

Add the exercise now. our bodies change, our metabolism is modifying as we get older. You have tried everything else. pick something you enjoy and can stick with. believe it or not, I square dance several times a week. it helps!

Many people had the same problems on Freestyle (which is blue). How much zero foods are you consuming? I decided to do green for more accountability.

@gunk5637. I cut WAY back on 0 PT foods. And I do fine that way.

To kick start my weight loss I cut down on carbs. It really worked for me and in the end I felt so much better without the sugar highs and lows. Also not hungry all the time. 2 pounds to go until goal!

Drink lots of water. Make a chicken vegetable soup to eat every day for lunch. Worked for me. Down 27 lbs.

Try cutting down on the beer, or cut it out altogether. Maybe one occasionally as a treat. You will enjoy it more.

That is why I went to green Less ‘zero’ food. Exercise helps tone but food is 90% in the beginning . I did the same on freestyle(blue & I don’t drink)

@custodian @malvern2 Lobato yes that’s why I usually wait to start exercising. I think I am going to try green. I don’t think I eat too many zero point foods but maybe I am? I am definitely cutting back on the beer. It does not mix with weight loss.

Are you drinking enough water  64oz a day

@knee2996 i am not - I definitely need to work on that. I made a point to drink way more water today, though!

Definitely switch to green for at least 2 weeks. I saw a drastic change when I went from purple to green. I haven’t started exercise yet because I wanted to get my eating in order first. 2 months and 24 lbs! Going to start the exercise this week with walking.
