@farias I have fibromyalgia also. I find for me I am worse when I don't move. The more I move the less pain I have. Forat thing in the morning and when I get up from sitting are when I hurt most. But walking and dancing after a few minutes I feel better.

@farias warm yourself up first. Heating pad, blankets, dress warm to get the blood flowing to your muscles. Do yoga or chair yoga. Get a cubic jr or other foot pedal thing you can do in a chair. I switch my stuff up. Walking, dancing, stretching, marching in front of the tv, cardio drumming from YouTube videos, small hand weights, exercise bike, real bike, Wii fit. I have to do something. I do what ever is going to help me that day.

If you go over the list you'll see carrying groceries, scrubbing surfaces, stretching etc. I count walking through the grocery store. You are probably a bit more active than you know and it won't be too hard to bump some of that up just a little <3

Do something you love or you won't do it. You can break it up. Say your plan is 30 minutes a day. You can break it up into three 10 minute intervals. Maybe 10 before work, 10 at lunch and 10 after. Or 15 at lunch and 15 after. If you watch tv you can march during the commercials and work yourself up to a whole show. You really just need to do more than you are doing now. If you are doing nothing then doing more is easy.

Think of ways to exercise at work. Tighten and release thighs while sitting at you desk. Hold stomach in for 30 or more seconds and release, roll shoulders blades backwards, take the step. Good luvk

How about a 15 minute walk at lunch? It doesn’t take a lot of activity to get a benefit.

I do some walking, but I'm not very active at all. I am busy on the with my teenagers and running around with them on weekends. During the week I work and seem to always be rushing around. I'm too tired to work out.

I've been forcing myself to workout. I aim for 3 to 5x a week for an hour. 30 min cardio and 30 strength training. It's been hard. But i can feel myself getting stronger and can already feel fat loss in my clothes. My job is physical, so when i get home, the last thing i feel like doing is working out. But i feel good after it's over.

I feel your pain! I have a vibration plate and do 10 minutes each morning and again after work. I do try to walk as much as possible at work. I park furthest away from my building to get more steps in. Every little but helps I suppose

Try to do something, even if it’s stretches on the floor while watching TV!

I didn’t start working out till I hit goal. Then I was doing evenings 2-3 nights a week and it just wasn’t working out, so I started getting up an hour earlier and going to the gym in the morning. Now I go 5-6 days a week in the morning.

Tell me about it. When I worked outside the house, I was up early and stayed up late to get the movement in. Found that breaking it up 15 minutes in the am, 15 during lunch and 15 in the evening helped.

Try not to think of this as a diet‼️. It’s really a lifestyle you’re working on.  Everything in moderation.

Diet/Deprivation ~ words that also DO NOT WORK for me (I think most people would also fall into this mindset) ~ I think that’s why when I see or read ‘diet’ for WW ~ it makes my skin crawl (down 112lbs in 76 weeks). Keys to my success is attached.

I count my steps on my phone , got over 5000 yesterday does that count? Tells you how many calories you burn also.
by (53.1k points)
@jabberwocky I don't take much stock in the calories burned. But the step counting is awesome and it does count. BUT you need to do some steps without stopping and starting. The normal walk 20 steps, then stop and do something, walk 15 steps then stop. Doesntbreally help you. I aim for 10k steps per day. Some of them are the start stop steps of life and some are purposeful steps for health. If you are doing 5k steps now, try adding a solid 10 minute walk. Then after a few days bump it up to 15. And keep doing that until a half hour is easy. And then start trying for 10k. Dancing also counts and it gets the steps in faster. You can also turn on your favorite show and march in front of the tv.

My experience is that exercise does not affect weight loss. Dieting does . But exercise is a huge factor in overall health . Mental , physical, emotional and social health . I exercise over 7 hours a week , cardio dance , Pilates and yoga . And I’m chubby .

I go to the gym directly after work. Tired or not. The more I go the more energy I have. If I go home first I don't want to leave again!

Don’t go home after work! Head directly to the gym. Write it on your calendar. That way when you get home from work (and your workout) you can just crash.

I have some pretty lofty goals so I have no choice but to get active. I have started going to Orange Theory, doing aquafit, going to the gym and starting back at yoga. I find that the variety helps. I work shift work and go to school full time so scheduling it is my best bet!

I do workout 5 days a week unless something comes up. The important thing is to make a habit. Set aside a time if day that works. Do you have you tube? If so maybe get up 30 minutes early and do a Leslie Sansone walking video. Lots and lots to choose from . 30 minutes to 45 ! You could do (2) videos a day in the comfort and convenience if your home. If she's not your thing there are other videos. dancing, hit
