The scale was UP THREE POUNDS today. Maybe that wouldn't be an issue, normaly, but I've been a member since March 3 and have yet to lose ANY weight. I've just maintained so far. I'm BEYOND discouraged. Haven't gone over my points - haven't gone under my points. Drink TONS of water. Have always exercised daily - although I have brought heavier weights into the equation because I'm getting stronger. It's my period week but LAST month I was able to maintain so gaining this month makes me feel like a failure. And most of us know, feeling like a failure is a REAL PROBLEM. Any suggestions on what (else) to do?

How do your clothes fit? I’m working out a ton bc if the stay at home order and I find although I weigh a little more my clothes fit better.
by (980 points)
@fanchie I have yet to put on real pants but good suggestion! ‍♀️
by (2.7k points)
@fanchie the clothes one is a good one. I feel I have been stagnant on the scale, but I have dropped clothing sizes.
by (2.8k points)
@fanchie I agree! I’ve only lost about 8 pounds (in 3 weeks) but my clothes fit so much better

Change color plans?

@christology just recently switched from purple to blue

I take a photo each week to track progress

@christology good idea!

@raffinate also you may want to try intermittent fasting

Have you been to the doctor to see if your thyroid, or hormones are regulated? I went and still try to maintain a balance with my body in that sense. Good luck and stay positive.

Which plan are you on? Are you weighting and measuring your food? Define TONS of water? Increasing activity can cause some weight gain because you are breaking down the muscle which causes it to hold onto water while it repairs, that weight usually starts to fall off in a few weeks or so depending on your body.
by (980 points)
@dodson blue plan. Yes, on track with portions. And I drink anywhere from 100-150 ounces of plain old water daily.
by (790 points)
@raffinate from my experience blue is too free. What I thought was a portion of chicken breast was closer to 1. 5 or 2. When I switched to green and had to start weighting proteins and starchy veggies, my weight started moving against
by (980 points)
@dodson - thanks  I thought about green instead. I will give blue the suggested two weeks and then switch if needed.

Increasing weight could’ve increased how much water your muscles are holding because you’re working the more
by (4.5k points)
Which would look like a gain but it’s just water and once your muscles adjust the lose the water and it won’t be extra weight

Sometimes you have to re evaluate what you’re eating. Zero point foods don’t mean they’re zero calories. Follow people on Instagram to learn the weighing trick. Maybe try another plan. Blue worked really well for me.

If it’s one day, tomorrow could be back to your desired weight. Stick with it today, and weigh tomorrow.

Same . Up 1 pound one week then loose a pound the following week . Same thing for weeks now. Very annoying.

Have you thought about trying intermittent fasting? I started a few days ago and my scale has dropped some past two days. Sounds like you are doing great! Good job sticking to the program. I am thinking about counting calories on my Fitbit to get an idea there. I have seen lots of comments in this group that doing that can help identify am issue.

Try a different color plan. I started on blue and took liberties with the 0 point foods. I’m now on green and seem to be losing better

My need to go to a different plan I stayed on the 23 points a day because I don’t need anyone telling me that potatoes are 0 points. I eat way too much fruit . I know that’s not good but I have lost 84 pounds and it keeps me satisfied . If I never lost another pound and stay like I am I will be satisfied. I am 5 lbs from goal and I really just want to be able to quit paying.
by (910 points)
@transmarine yes after I get to goal I’ll go back to blue. Definitely a lifestyle I can live with
by (3.4k points)
I always weigh the same time every day and try to wear the same thing everyday when I weigh . No shoes , heavy jewelry . I’d strip naked at the meetings if I would t get arrested!  I don’t trust the battery operated scales although that’s what I use. Even bought a new one because I thought the other one was wrong , they both weigh the same!

Check the battery in the scale as sometimes they start to get inaccurate when they are about to go. Weigh in at the same time of day. There is a big difference between day and night.
by (6.7k points)
My scale itself has been challenging me! I sometimes move it to another place to see if it weighs the same. You know what? It is different every single time I get on, within a minute, I put a new battery yesterday. It is a WW scale. Got it at BB+Beyond but how to return it and is maybe 6 months old. I have the box and will try though they are closed. It fluctuated as much as 5 lbs. Great motivator. I like the lowest # but can't trust it at all anymore. Anyone else have this problem?
by (980 points)
@licha400 I have an aria from Fitbit and it seems fairly accurate.

When I work out heavily my weight usually goes up a little before going down. Also it’s nice to see where you are in the month hormonally to see how your body reacts to water weight etc. for whatever reason drinking water has usually helped me get over the hump with weight loss

You need to do something different. I’m 57 and shirt and I can’t eat all my 30 or I won’t lose. Play around with what you’re doing and find what works for you

That is so tough - I do 0-day foods for a couple of days and that shakes me out of it!

I wasn't loosing either, and I was getting frustrated, finally against my will, I changed my color plan, and then I noticed a difference almost right away. I also lift weights, and just added heavier weights, so I worried ww just wasn't for me, but switching colors was a huge game changer.
by (3.2k points)
@gunthar4904 you switched from which color to which? I’ve gained . 4 a week for 3 weeks in a row n am getting very discouraged. Looking for tips. Thx!
by (980 points)
@agonize26 I just went from purple to blue. Hope this also helps!
by (560 points)
I started with trying out the old P+ because it worked for me in the past, but then moved on to blue, and still nothing. I switched to Green about two weeks ago, and have at least lost something, but the major difference is how my body seemed to look better ( green + weight training ) I actually felt it, and even people have noticed. I also make sure I don't weight in the day of or after I do any weights. I'd you do then don't surprised, if you are the same or have gained a small amount of water weight, due to your body recovering. There are a few other changes I made, but they were probably my fault
by (3.2k points)
@raffinate thank you yes! I’m green n was thinking of switching to blue. But I love green lol but somethings not right! This week I’m cutting out avocado n limiting fruit. If that doesn’t work next week I’ll switch to blue.
by (560 points)
@agonize26 I had to limit fruit too. I love it

Don’t eat the same number of points every day. You can have a big splurge day going over and follow it up with a day of lower than normal points. Shake up your metabolism.

What types of foods are you eating? I can stay within my points and not lose. I have to limit bread, pasta , sugar. Basically all my favorites- lol. I only eat bread twice a week, pasta 3 x a month. I am not as disciplined on limiting sweets. Are you tracking absolutely every BLT- bites, licks and tastes? I know those can throw me off. Have you had your thyroid checked lately. The 3 lbs could just be water retention. I am sorry this is so hard. I know how discouraging it is to do everything right and still not lose. Hang in there!

Less fruits. More proteins. More veggies. More water.

Exercise messes with the scale in a couple ways. Exercise- especially weights- builds muscle and muscle has weight. Swapping fat for muscle is a good thing but it doesn’t show on the scale. It shows in a leaner stronger body. Also muscle retains water as they recover - it’s necessary and normal If you haven’t done so, start taking measurements. Make note of how your clothes fit. You already said you are stronger As for food - are you eating weeklies or fit points? If not experiment with them - many lose best when they eat most/all of their points
by (980 points)
@bournemouth thanks  I have 130-150 fit points per week but didn’t think any part of those were “edible”.

Watch out for the free foods too. Like fruits and free chicken. Despite being zero points it’s not zero calories. Had that problem too

Zero pints don’t equal zero calories. Portion control and serving size is important as well. If your exercising more and using heavier weights, you need to eat more

What plan are you on?
by (980 points)
@seafood67657 blue from purple
by (3.5k points)
@raffinate don't be discouraged and don't give up. I've had those weeks where I gained and several in a row when I stayed the same. Healthy habits pay off. Keep it up. I also went from purple to blue and it took my body a little time to adjust. Cutting way back on carbs helped a lot.
by (980 points)
@seafood67657 thank you. I needed this.

Are you eating salty foods? They make you retain fluid.
by (980 points)
@ligetti I need to keep an eye on salt, I think

I also find that the less carbs I eat the better. I'm not one of those anti-carb people, but when I gain or stall I lay off bread and pasta and processed lunch meat.

Well hormones can definitely make you hold water. Increased weights can also make your muscles retain water to help them heal. I started working out again and the scale went up 4 pounds temporarily.

Take your measurements often. You usually lose inches or ounces. Also, a gallon of water weighs over 5lbs. So try to not drink before you weigh. I always weigh first thing in the morning.
by (16k points)
@venireman a gallon of water weighs 8 #!
