I do! WW works, however weight loss has been painfully slow. I’m not giving up though because I understand following the plan is keeping me healthier and ultimately happier.

I don't have a thyroid and lost 85 lbs :) make sure your levels are good and you're not eating things that interferes with Synthroid. I lost 40 lbs in 3 mos and 85 in total which took a year
by (1.2k points)
@banas I'm just starting synthroid, what foods interfere with that?
by (1.3k points)
@banas what foods affect synthroid?

Very slow and I have to be very strict. If I eat off plan, I gain the weight back so easily. It’s frustrating because I’m not 100% all the time.  so I’m gaining and losing the same weight.

I have thyroid issues. Been a Weight Watcher most of my life. This time since 3 years ago. Losing very slowly but sticking with it. Sometimes up and sometimes down. But WW is a lifelong program.

I am lifetime member not at goal. Been doing weight watchers for many years. I never had problems dropping the weight when I wanted to. Now that I am 46, and having the hardest time of my life. I have tried everything. Lower carbs and more protein. Walking ANd lifting weights. I wonder if I wrecked my metabolism with how many times in my life that I have lost that 20 pounds I needed to. Also, thinking about going to see doctor to check my thyroid. So frustrating when you really are putting in work.

Yes, I have had hypothyroidism since 1997. That plus menopause makes for very slow weight loss. I lose under 5 lbs a month but I am losing, so I stick with it!

Hi! Hashimoto's Disease here, weight watchers works for me to lose weight! I do not feel it is coming off slowly, I feel it is coming off at 1-2 pounds a week (which is how it should be). Blue

It’s working but very slowly. I’m finding the more I’m losing the more energy I have which helps. My dr test my range every few months bc mine levels out then crashes around every 6 months and have no explanation. Up my meds and get back on track. If your having a lot of symptoms ask to have levels monitored more often

I have hypothyroidism as well. Down 47 lbs.
by (650 points)
@whitehurst Stig what are you eating? I seem to only lose weight when I eat zero point foods only.
by (2.5k points)
I started over 5 years ago so the plans were different. But, I watched portion sizes. Concentrated on more fruits and veggies. Mostly veggies. Now, oatmeal most mornings. I add a little artificial sweetener and cinnamon. Lunch is varied. I like whole grain pasta mixed with spirals of butternut squash, a tsp butter and Parma cheese. Sometimes I will make black beans with brown rice. Sometimes eggs with hash browns. Usually banana or other fruits in afternoon. Lean meat and a veggie at night. Nothing fancy. Also I work from home so it makes lunchtime easier

Had my thyroid out in 2010 and quickly gained weight. As my body has adjusted to not having it and keeping a check on my med, it’s much better now. I just have to stay focused or it’ll creep back on quickly!

Hi Maureen! I have Hypothyroidism and I'm a WW member! I lost 25 pounds and have kept it off for almost 2 years! Yes, I'm a Turtle too and the journey was long but so worth it! Plus I've made some amazing friends who help and encourage me! (Even though right now it's on Zoom! )

@chambertin29330 hi there! I was just disgnl6 with hypothyroidism, and I'm also diabetic. I need to lose a LOT of weight. A lot of people seem to be struggling with weight loss. I'm sure my levels won't even out for a few months from what I hear. Any advice is welcome!
by (590 points)
@insurrection go to a Zoom WW meeting and talk with the coach afterwards. See if that person can give you advice. It took me almost a year to lose the weight!

I have hypothyroidism. I’ve lost 25 lbs since January. I have learned I am most successful when I exercise daily. I’ve cut out sugar, soda and up until recently alcohol. I have allowed myself to have a glass or two of wine if my points allow for it.

Yes. Just be careful not to eat too much in soy products, spinach, and walnuts. I was eating a handful of walnuts everyday in my yogurt. All of a sudden my hair started falling out. I read in a health newsletter that too many walnuts cause issues for Thyroid patients. Rats. I love walnuts.

Me! ‍♀️ It takes more time, I have been on WW this time since October. I’m down just over 8 pounds. I have found it works really well using WW recipes and leaving off bread. Also, I personally have to stay away from my beloved Chocolate. Don’t forget if your health permits get some sort of exercise in.

I have hypothyroidism & recently diagnosed with Hashimoto autoimmune. I’m post menopause, with an unwanted 15 lbs to lose. I stated WW Feb 26 of this year. I’ve only lost 2. 8 lbs. I have started weight training videos & cardio. I’ve been doing these faithfully since mid a March. I’ve lost a few inches, so I’m taking that as a little win, but it is a struggle bus to not see the scale move. I do have a medical check up with my primary next month. I believe my levothyroxine may need to be tweaked.

by (1k points)
@divide that's amazing! I'm 62, have been on almost every thyroid med out there and have never felt optimal It's been over 20 years! So frustrating! WW's have helped me drop some weight and I'm sure that will continue as long as I stay on program and start moving Do you mind me asking which med you're on?

WW has been working for me. I had a total thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer and diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. So I am regulated with synthroid for the last 19 yrs. When I faithfully track and even while using my weeklies I was almost at a 20 lbs lose after beginning in January 2020.
