I give myself wiggle room on the weekends. It’s usually Saturday dinner and on Sundays. It just depends on what we’re doing.

Cheat days can be tricky for me. When I first made it to goal I always incorporated a cheat day. Three years later that cheat day has made the difference between weighing under goal or over. I am 64 work full time and get abt 15, 000 steps most days. I tell myself this is a lifestyle count everything and move on. I feel great but surely vigilant.

Instead of an entire cheat meal, I sometimes splurge on a small portion of a high point food. Nothing the size I used to eat. I have stayed below goal now over a year, so I allow myself a little more freedom.

@jellyfish Yes started thinking like that. Good idea. Like hearing u say that.

I have a cheat meal whenever I feel its neccessary, sometimes its once a month or it could be 3 times in a week, just make sure when you do it enjoy it, dont eat more when you're no longer enjoying, plan it ahead and never feel guilty.

@calorific I ate 2 battered fish tacos yesterday and i enjoyed them. I counted them and they were delicious I Don’t feel quilty. I tried to eat both at once only I couldn’t . I had to take 1/2 Taco home . Didn’t use to . Use to eat both and leave wanting another .
by (1.5k points)
@chihuahua smart to take it home, it would've been easy to just eat the other half of the taco but eating to enjoy is key instead of forcing it down when you're already satisfied. I used to do that a lot in the past and I think back almost half of everything I ate I really didnt enjoy.

@chihuahua wow ! I’m still wanting another lol!

My son eats 3 a week. He counts them and enjoys them. His weight loss so far is 140. He said his loss is slower but he is not giving up his cheat meals .

I just have meals. Not cheat meals. Sometimes I use a lot of points with a meal, but that is a choice.

Just went out to dinner last night with my boyfriend, had chicken wings, cheesy tater tots and beer and lost a pound. DONT FEEL GUILTY! As long as it’s a cheat meal not a cheat day/week

I used 43 points on Super Bowl Sunday. It’s no big deal, just get back to it the next day. Currently down 18lbs in 3 1/2 weeks!

@patsy-yes, but think how many points you burned during the game! Go, Chiefs!

I would never call them cheat meals. Its all part of eating. Some days are higher points than normal, but I just try to eat zero points the next day. and I'm losing weight

I don’t do cheat days. I basically eat what I want on a daily basis, am mindful of portion size and track it. That’s what got me to Lifetime status.
by (14.1k points)
@cradling exactly. This is not a diet. I eat what I want but track it

Cheating is something that specifically harms the one doing the cheating. It's a mindset, an attitude, and if yours is that you're cheating, well. Indulging is different. Have something you love and KNOW is worth the points from time to time. You're not cheating, you're living. Change your mindset, change your life.

You can definitely have a weekly cheat meal. Even skinny people eat fun food on occassion. I try to save my cheat meal for weigh in day. kind as a reward and then you have the whole week to flush out the extra salt and sugar before your next weigh in

I have lunch with my daughters on Fridays, typically, and we generally go for Mexican food. The good thing about Mexican food though is that it has plenty of vegetables and lean protein choices. Just gotta watch the cheese and chips, and I typically blot up some of the oil they use. If you can't eat things you love, then living this way is unsustainable! I'm ok with the weight-loss being slow, and having some foods I really enjoy in a moderate way.

I allow myself something once a week if I really want it. Maybe not a whole meal but treat or Something like a slice of pizza for dinner but I stay on plan the rest of the day if I plan a special dinner then I stick to program breakfast and lunch say for instance
