I want to get a credit card to help boost my credit. I have a secured card but it’s not really building my credit I want to get a regular card with no annual fee. What is a good starter credit card?

I had a capital one card for years and it didn't help at all. A month after having my amazon card, it went up by 50+ points!

We did a CD backed loan a few years ago and it built our credit a hundred points in a year.

Check with your bank/credit union to see what they have to offer since you’re already established with them.

I got my first credit card through Capital One. They started me off with a balance of $300 and my limit increased if I paid my bill on time. Check out Nerd Wallet. They can give you options of what you are more likely to qualify for.

I’ve had the Discover It card since 2015 and have never paid a fee. In fact, they have paid me regarding earning cashback that I just apply to my bill. I pay it off monthly. In 5 years I have gone from a $3, 000 Limit to a $12, 700 Limit but never use more than 8% of my Limit and I pay it off each cycle.

Discover would be the way to go, I've had great customer service with them and never a problem. The first year I remember they matched my cash back so I got double the amount.
