Ideally they need to be in a clear pot as they need sunlight on their roots. They'll thrive better in a clear pot but it's not the end of the world to be in an opaque pot

Mine are all in clear plastic pots inside normal indoor plant pots. They are all very happy and thriving

A few little tips - 1) when doing hanging baskets and wall planters - put a disposable nappy (or 2 depending on size of planter) plastic side down in the bottom of the basket or planter.
