Ideally they need to be in a clear pot as they need sunlight on their roots. They'll thrive better in a clear pot but it's not the end of the world to be in an opaque pot

Mine are all in clear plastic pots inside normal indoor plant pots. They are all very happy and thriving

You can buy proper plant pots that fit orchid from most places that sell plant pots.

Mine are in the salad box from my old refrigerator it holds three and is on the French window step. indoors of course

Mine isnt in a clear pot., had it in bathroom but as you can see its regrown (for the second time) so now have it in lounge window

I got this vase in Asda for £6, with a few stones in the bottom the pot fits in nicely.
