Often hunger is really other things. For me evening munchies are about boredom. I need something to occupy me when I am sitting watching TV. I generally save a snack for eve, but doing something with my hands (knitting, crochet) or staying busy, drinking tea, eating celery if I want crunchy snacks are all things that help me. Figure out what is going on for you. It may not be actual hunger but habit, emotions, boredom and knowing will lead u to dif solutions.
