Is anyone in here on the athlete program? Just wondering what your daily food journal looks like and how much you’re moving and/or working out along with results? I’ve been on phase 1 for the last 6 weeks and have only lost 8lbs. My coach is switching me to the athlete program thinking I’m not getting enough calories. Please don’t preach to me about why I shouldn’t workout while doing this diet

You definitely need to switch to the athlete program! Right now you’re burning muscles and not fat. Probably just need to tweak a few things! But. you’ve also lost almost 1. 5 per week which is still really good especially since it’s not your first time doing it AND you don’t have a ton to lose!

@andino71 I’m dying at the amount of money I’m spending weekly to only lose 1. 5lb a week, so yes! I definitely need to tweak it! Even on days I’m not running, my work routine and with the kids and what not, I’m burning too many calories. It sucks because I only wanted to lose 10lbs and figured I’d definitely be done by now!

Who said you can’t work out on the program? I worked out 4-6 times a week - did it all! I just limited my calorie burn too 300 cals per workout. I lost about 2 pounds a week.

@andino71 Box technically you’re not supposed to do anything that makes you sweat, but I’ve been doing CrossFit and running for years. I’m also a nurse and even on my days of just working, I’m burning around 500 calories from the moving I do. On workout days it’s more like 600+. So, long story short, I think I’m too far in the hole on calories and my coach wants to switch me to the athlete protocol where I get a few more carbs

@boer70 My Coach is a medical doctor and she advised/coached me on workouts. Sweat is an easy subjective governor on exertion. Using a FitBit to monitor calorie burn is equally effective and objective. I had to eat the high cal and high carb end of the sheet but still lost two pounds a week. My plan and routine was not only effective but IP and coach approved!

So, you didn’t go to the athlete protocol where you get a piece of bread, diary item and fruit?

@boer70 never even heard of it! I will ask my coach next weigh in. If I can find this post I will report back.

For the record, I am a life long athlete!

@andino71 Box sounds good! My coach gave me a different sheet to work off of. It’s the same protocol, but just adds a bit extra and is apparently used as an athlete and diabetic protocol. I started it today so it should be interesting to see the difference in weight loss, if there is any.

That’s how I am. I run half marathons, CrossFit 3-5 times a week, play softball, chase kids. it’s been so hard for me to sit down
