Talk to me about how your coaches support you. I go to the clinic get weighed buy food and leave. I need more! I need some support for the why behind my struggles. I need ideas on how to make better choices. Anything?

Oh I’m so sorry! My coach is amazing! Tele coaching is an amazing option!

Can you tell me what your coach does that makes them amazing? Like HOW are they supporting you what do they actually DO for you? I would like to make suggestions to the clinic because I feel like its so easy to get disappointed and off track.

@boutis533 she spends a ton of time going over my measurements and explains why things are going up and down! She suggests recipes and even offers samples of prepared items!

My coach (and clinic owner) is also amazing, MD (OBGYN), also board certified in obesity and weight management and now sees clients in that realm. Quite knowledgeable about IP, follows the program herself, finds out things she may not know the answer to. Clients get weighed and measured every week, journals reviewed, questions answered, challenges discussed. Every two weeks body comp is done on an InBody machine, results sent to your cell phone. Always available by text and always responds. Hosts IP gatherings from time to time, usually in conjunction with holidays. Has a FB page for clients with tips and recipes.

Love this! I feel like some of this is exactly what I need. Someone to talk to when I need an ear. Kind of like in AA an alcoholic has a sponsor. I am someone who struggles almost at an addictive level with food. I would like to be able to call/text someone when I am feeling the urge to make bad choices and just talk it out.

My coach has called/emailed twice a week as well as a weigh in and buying food. I’m really impressed. Maybe find another coach?

I coached part time after I made it to maintenance. Every client that I had got a half hour, not 15 mins for food pick up. I made it clear to everyone that came in for their appt that info. The others knew they may have to wait an extra few minutes. If clients needed extra support I gave it to them. I WAS and I AM a client too. I miss coaching and this makes me sad. My coach was so great and I followed in her foot steps. Losing weight is just as much mental as physical. If you need more guidance I hope you are honest with your clinician about it and you get some extra help.

Have you tried discussing these issues with your coach?
by (2.3k points)
@jalisajalisco83 I have. This is my 3rd attempt at this. The first coach got fired she sucked. Then another lady took over she was gone quickly this is the 3rd one.

That’s all my coach does as well. If I text and ask her a question she does respond but just weighs and measures me and out the door.

@impish I dont even have a number besides the office. And the hours there are very limited.

I started the day before the corona lockdown. march 17. We are not allowed in so i have not weighed, been measured, or coached at all. I got two short phone calls from a nurse in two months. I’m just winging this whole thing. Order food and they run it out to your car. Down 20 lbs but i think if corona didnt hit and i was allowed in the building for weighing and coaching that i would be down more.
by (2.3k points)
@beard9059 this is how it was precorona too
by (3k points)
@boutis533 well it costs an awful lot of money just to wing it☹️
by (2.3k points)
@beard9059 agreed

@beard9059 / I had my initial weigh in & consultation on 3/16 ! I didn’t start the program until 3/31 though (I was waiting for flax seed oil caps as the nurse says I couldn’t use their omega 3 supplements due to an allergy). Down 14 lbs (had a slow beginning )

@pageantry that’s awesome!

@beard9059 thx! I can’t wait for the 20lb Mark! Congratulations to you!

As a clinic owner/coach, I recommend you find another clinic close to you and not a clinic in another state. That would be the fair approach and give you a localized view. Most of us are tele-coaching, Zooming, texting, have private Facebook groups, etc. I’m available to my clients 24/7 and they know it. Are you watching the phase 1 videos on the Ideal Protein app?
by (2.3k points)
@containment I know nothing about the app
by (2.3k points)
I was told it links to the scale but thats it
by (560 points)
@boutis533 download the Ideal Protein app from whatever App Store you have-iPhone or Android. Register to your current clinic. Once registered, call and ask your clinic to then set you to Phase 1. If they aren’t responsive definitely find another clinic that is. I’m in a severe thunderstorm downpour right now so can’t copy the link.

@boutis533 so much more! Journal, videos.
by (560 points)
@boutis533 I just sent you a link to the app via FB Messenger. I use iPhone but if you don’t you can at least see what it looks like. Journaling, videos.
