I am so stuck!  I also have had a cold for 2 weeks.I am so stuck! I also have had a cold for 2 weeks. I was hoping to get to 'onderland' by Jan 1st but here it is mid Feb and still not there. I am drinking my h2o and staying on track(for the most part). I am taking micinex in the mornings and nyquil at night with this cold but dont know how to get that scale moving again. I also have done the 'reboot' which did nothing. Suggestions?

Try sticking with unrestricted packets and soups and shakes for a couple weeks. I've only lost 7 pounds since January. But, at least it's a loss and not a gain. But I understand how frustrated you are. Just keep going.

@mercy only? That’s 7 more lbs than I have lost. And I am on protocol 100%!

@universalist I have been at goal and maintenance for 2 years. So when I'm close to goal again it goes slowly. I'm not complaining, just an adjustment and a reminder to keep going

“For the most part” is what is keeping you from getting to Onderland. If you can have a really good, % on plan week, you will likely tip the scale and see the results. Maybe do three unrestricteds a day, up your water, limit red meats, and just do basic meat n veggies.

@garnettgarnette26 yeah but my 'for the most part' consists of not getting every lst piece of cheese or shredded carrots off a salad or an extra hb egg. Still keto, just a LITTLE over in calories. I basically only do 1 restricted every other day and i should have stock in cauliflower, broccoli and zucchini! Lol

When you say you are sticking to protocol "for the most part, " know that it only takes a tiny bit of the wrong thing to knock you out of ketosis. It then takes about a week of 100% protocol to get you back in ketosis. When you are sick, find protocol medications to take instead.

Is the medicine you’re taking pills or liquid? If liquid, they may have some sugar.

@pegg628 yes agreed, no honey or liquids, even SF lozenges count as 1/4 sweeteners. Make sure you get your 3 packets and try to use 8oz if meat (even if you’re in US and technically it’s changes). When you are sick you need even more protein often. Protein goes into every single new cell you are making, so if low in that, how will you make healing cells, or all the others you still require! And. don’t do this ‘for the most part. you need to be  %. It will come!

@pegg628 this was exactly my thoughts.

You’re sick, and it sounds like it’s lingering?! Focus on getting better and don’t worry about dropping on the scale right now! You need your medicine, you don’t feel well so raw veggies and meat probably is being replaced with crackers and soup as it should. As long as your maintaining you’re ok! Worry about this in a week when you’re 100%!

The body os a funny thing. A few weeks ago (5 months in) I drop 6 pounds to my coach and my amazement. The next 2 weeks were bad, . 2 and . 5 pounds. I finally got back to "normal" numbers this week with 3. 5. I'm within 15 pounds of goal, so I know it will be a little harder. Just have to keep at it and "power through" I'm sure being sick isn't helping.

Check the ingredents in your cold meds. It probably has sugar, corn syrup or something like that. if it does look for sugarfree.

Sometimes it is also WHEN you eat certain things, not just WHAT you eat. I found I cannot have protien-only breakfasts or it messes with my entire day. Pay close attention to what and when you eat and how it makes you feel for the remainder of the day. This has helped me a ton! Good luck!
