I read most posts every day. the the following is just my opinion on WW and the changes we make that are meant to be for a life time. I have done WW three times in the past 20 years. I have counted calories with MyFitnessPal. I have also lived low carb for 2 years. Both of these life experiences taught me two things. A) you will lose weight if you count points or calories / lower carbs. move more. etc b) you will gain it back if you stop counting points or calories/ go back to eating carbs. quit moving as much. etc I have lost weight. that I swore I would not gain back. and gained back the weight I swore I wouldn’t gain back. Why? Because I was so strict on myself it wasn’t maintainable for a life time. My advice. You have to make this plan work for you and your life. If you enjoy that Friday night cocktail with friends. have that cocktail. If you enjoy your weekly poker night with a few beers. have those beers. For me it is ice cream. Every weekend I have an ice cream from Cold Stone. DQ. Marble Slab. something good and loaded with points. The changes you make to get the weight off have to be changes that are maintainable long term. or you’re defeating the whole meaning behind this program (said from someone that has lived it. multiple times! ). You still have to live your day to day life and enjoy the things that bring you happiness. In doing this - along with making changes to your way of eating, cooking, dining out choices - you will still lose weight (maybe a little slower) - but it will be more manageable if you are still able to do all of the things you enjoy - and not feel guilty every time you order the drink or eat the ice cream (or loaded tater tots, cheeseburger. etc). IMO it is up to us to make the plan for our life style. we don’t work for it! Losing slowly is okay (I lose much slower now than I did 20 years ago). Slow and steady wins the race! I’ve been doing this since December 2nd and I am down 22 pounds. Some weeks have been a . 4 loss and others a 1. 8 loss. A loss is a loss and helping you get to your final destination!

I agree! Easy is the weight loss part compared to Maintainence! I am learning how to enjoy the things I love (pizza with whole milk mozzarella but instead of eating a whole medium pizza I eat one the size of a salad plate. I do this every week after my weight in. I plan for special occasions by saving points. All things in moderation and exercise 3-4 times a week.

This is something that I am truly struggling with. I am trying to fit WW to my life but I don’t know how. This week was pretty easy. I planned in advance and had a ton of fruit. But last week was so rough for me. I decide that Friday night is when I have 1 cheat meal and I still track it. I save all my weekly points for this one day a week. So far I have lost 3 pounds but I’ve only been doing WW for 2 weeks now.

@kuntz/activity" class="qa-user-link">kuntz @kuntz/activity" class="qa-user-link">kuntz my usual splurge is on Saturday. and I usually have one thing I am craving - not a whole day. I spend Sunday’s prepping breakfast for the week. I usually always have soup in the freezer for lunches. If i don’t have a plan, I will make bad choices
by (600 points)
@ermines568 that has been my issue not having a plan. I have a bad history of bingeing. I can eat none stop. I just need to always have a back up plan for when I want to binge.

@kuntz there is definitely a game plan for making WW work for you. Loosing 3 pounds in 2 weeks is great! Keep working the plan, thinking of your actual lifestyle and you’ll be fine. Game On!

Well said! I like how the ads for Nutrisystem says you don’t have to cook or think about what you’re going to eat. Tell me. how is that teaching you what you need to know to do it on your own? ‍♀️
by (4.9k points)
@electrocautery Smedberg is much rather have real cooked food than store bought frozen meals. I make soups and freeze for easy grab and go lunches
by (32.9k points)
@ermines568 my soup never has a chance to be frozen!

TOTALLY AGREE! This is our lifestyle & we need to do what works for us. It's not a race, a slow loss is still a loss

Your attitude is great! It's the way that I did it when I joined in 2006, reached goal in 2008 and have maintained/lost more since then (lost 10 lbs since Core/Purple came back). point of reference, I am now 68 yrs old

I swore when I rejoined that this was going to be a way of life. Definitely eating what I could live with. I am losing slowly but surely! I am down 20 lbs but able to move so much better and feeling so much better. My goal is to keep it off, not just lose it❣️❣️❣️
