Who is wayyyyyy down in their step count?  I am a teacher and I used to get at least 12, 000 most days (with a daily workout). Now, I’m lucky if I get half that! ⚠️ How are you all getting more steps in?! That’s my goal today- MOVE MORE throughout the day! ‍♀️ I have also been slacking on tracking consistently. but it has to stop! I hopped on the scale and was up 6 lbs from when I stopped bc of Covid-19 stress (March 12). So, my goal is just to track today- everything. One day at a time. We can do this.  This world we live in is the new normal for right now and we have to continue on with our goals! But, let’s do it day by day, so we can celebrate small successes! ⭐️ What’s your BIG goal for the day? ✅

Check out the Leslie Sansone 3 mile walking videos. Its aerobics and they take only 45 minutes. You will probably get 5000 steps easily with them. They are easy but effective and you dont need much room. You can find them on YouTube

@nonah I will check those out! Thanks!

I have been walking 3 to 4 times a day around the neighborhood. It's a mile each time. Or we have been hiking in the woods. When it isn't nice enough to go out I do walking videos on YouTube

@shemikashemite Walking videos on YouTube when it’s rainy out is an awesome idea! Thanks

This might sound crazy, but any time I realize I’m standing still, I just walk around the room I’m in. For instance, today when making my coffee, I walked around my kitchen island until it was done brewing. Before you know it, your steps are there!

That`s what I do! It works

@imprint it sure does!

@oneal544 Omg! As I was reading this, I just realized I was sitting down at my computer. So I got up and started moving. Thank you for that reminder.

Just threw on a pair of jeans and sweatshirt and going to try and start walking for 10 minutes an hour every day. My Fitbit steps have CRASHED. Problem is our weather sucks. 31 degrees out there right now
by (9.2k points)
@germany48 Yeah. I’m thinking maybe doing walking videos when it’s not nice out?
by (7.5k points)
@germany48 right now we are at -28 Celsius That's approx -15 or lower on the Fahrenheit scale. I feel your pain for the weather sucking. If I had what you have, I would be out! I can't wait till it gets to that warm! And I know that is only about -1 Celsius! I live in northern Saskatchewan and what we have right now is normal for at least three or four months a year, with a couple that hit -40, and that is the same in both temperatures!
by (1.3k points)
@repeat Girrrrrrrllllll. Stop! You are a hero in my book. We are leaving Chicago in two years. We have done our tour of duty with the winter and heading to Arizona in two years. I'm tired of my walking tapes, since I do those during the bad months of winter. I took three bike rides last week, and then our temperatures crashed. Just trying to stay on track.
by (7.5k points)
@germany48 oh how I wish! We have another three to five years of this. I'm very lucky that I love my job. Right now I am at a standstill but in my normal life I work at a library board office. We have a large warehouse where I can walk laps during the day when I need to get up and walk. I am going to be so happy to get back to somewhat normal.

Can you walk around your neighborhood to get more steps in? What about getting some body weight workouts in?

I struggle with my eating- too much comfort food. We have to be kind to ourselves but I also know that exercise is therapeutic and helps with those food cravings.
by (9.2k points)
@schmaltz9 me too! But I feel like now that this is the new normal and this might go on for a few months – I can’t keep just letting myself eat comfort food. I need to get back on track as best I can with what I have.

And I have gotten back to tracking my food. My goal is a half pound a week right now because I worry that if I stress too much about losing weight that I will go on a eating binge.

I used to set my timer on my stove for 60 min and then just start walking around the house, up and down the steps, etc. Now I switched to my Schwinn exercise bike and do 90 min for 11 miles while watching TV. I go by min., not steps. Not using a fitbit. :) Ninety minutes on an exercise bike at moderate intensity, gives me 17 fitpoints for the day extra.

I have actually been walking more than I used to. I working from home, so I don’t go out during the day. I have a tiny apartment, and I’m not allowed to walk in the hallways of the building for exercise, so I just walk round and round the apartment several times a day. After supper, my husband and I go out for a long walk around the neighborhood. I have far more free time since I don’t have to commute back and forth to work, and we can’t do all the extra stuff we used to do in the evenings and weekends.
