Phase 1 is a loss phase, so yes, it is not meant to "stay on" beyond goal. Reach goal then transition to maintenance.

@footrope she has already schlubbed me off to a gal that does facials in her office? i'm put off by it. in the beginning she seemed great. told me my first week's meals were included in the 425. 00 start up fee, but then i spent another 90. 00 before I left? / must have been for the vitamins I'm assuming

@chokedamp Call the clinic anonymously and say you forgot what the $450 start up includes. See what they say. Thankspically it is food and vitamins.

Coaching should include a complete orientation and in-depth review of the program and phase 1 protocol AND starting weight and measurements of 5-6 body parts. First visit should last about 30 minutes one on one with your coach. When you leave you should know exactly what to do for your first week. Subsequent visits each week include a thorough review of your food journal with feedback and tips for improvements; education/new information; Q and A to ensure you understand everything; cheerleading; planning for next week's menu; weigh-in weekly; measuring usually every other week; body fat percentage measuring; and then food purchases. You should feel your coach knows the program, is using current protocol and can answer most questions confidently and uses IP corporate resources to find out information if needed. Anything less and they are taking your money and NOT providing you with the services you are paying for!

I use them. I’ve heard they’re not really that reliable after awhile but I don’t care…. I just get thrilled seeing the color that says I’m in ketosis. It is just a motivator for me.

@lake1981 they are a waste of money and are totally unreliable. The body, after awhile adjusts and does not show.

@lake1981 I use them and can tell when I’ve slipped out of ketosis. As long as I’m showing trace reading I typically lose.

@lake1981 Yes, that’s true. But I buy them at drugstores. It isn’t reliable, I agree. But I just get a thrill seeing the color change. Mostly in beginning.

If you eat the sheet and don’t cheat, you will be in ketosis until you move to step down/stabilization.

If you are at your desired weight then you should go into phase 2 and learn how to eat properly without IP food .

For some people phase one is what keeps them in maintenance! Only if you need a very low carb diet to keep the weight off due to a person's particular metabolism. But supplements would have to continue.

It was scary to change from phase one to two, I keep my weight off since October watching my protein intake and keeping away from carbs. Thinks changed after the quarantine we was baking often and gained back 10 pounds . I went back to phase one and is hard but stared to lost but the struggle is real

You stay in phase one until you reach goal weight. From there you can use the IP packets in maintenance (I do all the time) but you need to increase whole protein, fat and calories. think of adding fat to your plate to burn instead of off of you :). Like whipping cream in your chocolate drink, cheese and guacamole on your nacho dorados, melted butter in your IP oatmeal. I LOVE IT!
