Has anyone ever gone off protocol and done a detox? I’ve been nibbling a little year and there I’m retreating between 12-15 pounds from my goal  a little bit of life stress has hit and I’ve been a bit of an emotional eater sweets and a little wine. Just curious I’m considering doing a detox for a week and then coming back on the program I’m just not sure what that will do to my body. Your thoughts?

I actually did this because i stalled and had no loss for about a month. I went off for 2 weeks (I had hit 100lb loss) as soon as I went back on my losses were significant again. But it is so much harder to stay focused the 2nd time around. So be prepared for a mental, focus, and commitment challenge. I’ve heard people say it and I didn’t believe it until now.

And let me clarify, I didn’t detox, I just quit eating protocol but watched what I ate for those two weeks. Then went back on. Good luck to you! ☺️

Detoxes are bogus marketing scams. If you have proper functioning kidneys and liver, your body detoxes itself. I agree with just getting back to it. I have had the same issues. I recently started journaling again. There is also a website called the Center for clinical intervention which allows for self guided psychotherapy. One of the modules is specifically for eating disorders, which I have come to realize fits me (binge eating disorder). So that could be something to try. I wouldn't waste money on a cleanse or detox, but this is just coming from a family doctor in the same boat ;)

@guerrero thank you the detox is actually the green smoothie cleanse so it’s smoothies made with veggies and fruit and one meal with meat and veggies but I’m just back in protocol today. Thanks so much for the info and thoughts

@rosinweed83 I meant the green smoothie cleanse it is 10 days of veggies and fruit however I’m back on protocol and pushing forward to my goals!

I am working through a spiritual sugar fast right now; I'm on Day 8. It coincides perfectly with IP, so I can follow the IP plan, but because of the daily journaling and devotionals, I can also work on the mental part of things at the same time. It has definitely helped me with the binging of sweet foods and helped me refocus towards the IP plan as it's written. If interested, it is on the revelationwellness. org website

Also, they are very adamant to say it is NOT a diet, but a fast, and spends quite a bit of time talking about different types of fasts (spiritual vs. food)
