This may be TMI for men but I need some advice. I’ve been on IP for 9 weeks and I’ve lost 38. 4 pounds. I have been on birth control for almost 10 years to help my cycle regulate, and it’s worked, I could time exactly whe cycle would start. Since I’ve been on IP I’ve gotten a period every two weeks. Today at my weigh in I gained 3. 5 pounds and I haven’t eaten anything that isn’t on the sheet. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using a non hormonal ( condom, diaphragm. ) back up form of birth control while on phase 1?

@bashemath no, I’ve just been on the pill.

When you are burning fat the hormones that are stored in your fat are released. This can cause hormonal symptoms and can cause your hormonal form of birth control to not work as well. This is why we always tell women to use a back up. Also check with your Dr. to make sure it's not fibroids or anything more serious.

I'd recommend a second form of birth control there are a lot of ideal babies out there. As you lose body fat, the hormones stores in your fat are released. Your hormones can be wacky awhile. And use your measurements or your clothing to tell if your losing inches. The scale doesn't always show everything due to water fluctuations.

I have an IUD and haven’t had a period in over a year. I am on day 6 and I had a period for 1 day on day 5! My coach said when you shed fat cells it releases hormones. It’s a good sign.

I was in menopause for almost 2 solid years. Labs to prove it, horrible hot flashes, the whole 9 yards! A couple of months in IP, guess who's back! I was freaking out. Hormones are a crazy thing. I'm back on birth control now
