@fastening did she say why?
by (1.5k points)
@driver20888 no. That was on phase 1. I just did what she told me, I really didn’t ask why. My dietician is awesome, I love her.

I take 3 as per my coach. I am in Canada so not sure if the program varies a bit.

Protocol is 4 unless you're talking the chews. It's on the revised sheet.

@apposite Yes i stick to protocol 100% but curious why coach would change it. ive restarted after 10 years. videos of IP say how important to take cal/mag and how they work with fat cells
by (7.8k points)
@driver20888 hard to say why? Some coaches may misinterpret, and sad that some just do what they want. they all receive updated info and are supposed to go to training etc. unfortunately there are some that don't. IP will catch up to them . I'm fortunate to have an awesome coach.

@utgardloki yes. give me a sec to find it on my phone

@utgardloki here is a screenshot. if I crop it it may get blurry. I'm in Canada so the meat protein is 8 oz. I believe the U. S. is now 6.

I take the chews and have dropped down to only taking one a day. I have been incredibly constipated through out my whole IP journey. Not sure if you have the same issue or not but that could be the reason.

@garnettgarnette what do the chew ones look like? Are they IP or another brand?
by (1.4k points)
They are IP. Squares and they taste a bit like a tootsie roll
by (8.8k points)
@garnettgarnette never constipated till i did IP but just for a short time. increased my omega 369 by one and resolved.

Ask your coach again why she does not have you following protocol. Coaches do ask you to change things up a bit sometimes after talking to you about you previous week. Cal mag helps with “#2” so maybe if you has issues with that then that is why you have been asked to only take 2.

@temekatemerity She went on 2 week sabbatical.
by (8.8k points)
@temekatemerity Think you just nailed it! Ive never had issues with constipation. Seams the more cal/mag take a change with #2 - as may run for the border!

How does the cal/ mag help with the fat release? I haven’t heard that. Also my coach gave me the chews to try. So yummy. I may switch to them only 2 per day

@kandicekandinsky On IP app there are videos and there is one explaining why need of calcium.
by (1.4k points)
@driver20888 I have the app. How do I find this video?
by (8.8k points)
@kandicekandinsky I had hit the dotted square and all these videos came up with a grey hair man talking. many good videos specially for a beginner. not seeing them now. even load days intake n it is not showing up. hadnt used my app for several years maybe it triggered an update. will continue to seek and see if can find out whats up.

@driver20888 thanks I’ve been watching the daily videos. But couldn’t find a way to search for a video on the calcium. Let me know how to find it if you figure that out. Thx

Ideal Protein has coaches use only 2 cal/mag pills if the patient is suffering with constipation. She should know the reason why. And you are taking them to replace our micro nutrients as the food in the program only provides your macro nutrients.

@cumine98141 My coach also my doc knew prior to IP ive dealt with opposite of constipation. was hoping a coach could say why. hum i havnt tried googling yet
by (510 points)
@driver20888 I am a coach and in a physician office - some people are very calcium sensitive - causes constipation - others are magnesium sensitive and that can cause diarrhea. If you continue to have the problem the digestive enzymes are wonderful.

I am only on 2 of the pills per day for phase 1. Have been for 7 months. For me it's because I have a history of calcium kidney stones.
by (6.5k points)
@lighterman Sears lack of calcium actually creates scenario for stones bc body pulls from where needed when subnormal, creating great environment for stones.

Mag helps prevent cramping. In changing our food intake, calcium and mg deficiencies can occur plus contains VitD and other nutrients needed for optimum health & function.
