How are you guys handling working out while on program? I’m trying to decide if it truly would help speed things up or if I should just be patient with my slow progress.

Working out makes me stall it does not speed up my weight loss.

@guardian926 ya I’m doing an experiment this week and not working out to see if it makes a difference

@guardian926 correct you’re muscles are fatigued becouse they don’t have enough energy or food. Add in the branch chain amino acid after you walk. Don’t do anything strenuous. if you are on phase 1 you simply are not consuming enough calories in the first place.

@guardian926 how about walking ?
by (1.6k points)
Yes I can walk but not too far. over 2 days I walked 5 miles and I gained on day 3. So i am now trying to stay under a mile per day.

It don’t really make my scales change but I feel better and I’m pretty sure I lose inches . makes sense if working out builds muscles that would work impact weight loss .

Be sure and talk to your counselor before working out. We are only consuming 800-1200 calories a day. We can’t really afford to deficit by exercise. If you do exercises be sure and drink at least one branch chain amino acid (stuff in red box). Walking is ok assuming your not huffing and puffing. You should be able to have a normal conversation with someone.

I tried some light exercise and it didn't speed anything up. In fact, I ended not losing weight. My coach said nope, don't do it.

If one really wants/needs to exercise there is an Alternate phase 1 for diabetics and exercise. It adds a fruit, dairy and grain daily Still follow the same plan, same IP foods, but these are added. Weight loss might be slower for some. ( my husband still lost 3 pounds weekly on it). You could talk to your coach about it.

Exercise makes you gain muscle which means when you watch the scale you notice a stall or even a gain but the inches can still be changing. But be wary of the intensity as your caloric intake is already limited. For my sanity I bike or walk 20-30 minutes every other day and notice that when I bike a harder trail 2 days in a row then on the scale I stall but I know it’s because my muscles are growing
