Knee pain has nothing to do with the protocol. knee pain is often excess weight on the joints. or something else and you need to see the doctoe

Knee pain tends to go away on this diet as inflammation decreases and people lose weight. If you are getting knee pain for the first time it can be inflammation (you could possibly be allergic to something in the food) or can be a completely unrelated issue. I would see a doctor.

Knee pain has nothing to do with Ideal. It’s weather, it’s arthritis. It’s too much walking uphill without being conditioned for it (as an example). Knee pain is knee pain. Strengthen your quads. Strengthen your hips.

The raspberry gelatin contains collagen which helps with inflammation and protecting joints/cartilage

Definitely not a side effect of the diet. If anything my knee's have gotten much better from losing 21 pounds. Did you have a knee injury in the past? Sometimes if you overdo things, like running or squats these can aggravate an old injury. I tore my miniscus a few years ago just by getting out of bed the wrong way and have had to deal with knee pain for the last few years. I'd keep my eye on the pain and if it gets worse go and have an Xray. I find that rest, ice and elevation helps if you overdo it and find pain. Maybe try that and see how it goes. Taking Glutamine supplements can really help sore knees as well due to just wear and tear/osteoarthritis .

I noticed as I lost weight how I carried myself changed and some pains went away to sometimes be replaced by others. Check you posture and alignment. Make sure you aren't doing things to stress your knees and then get checked by a doctor.

I once read that every pound you lose takes 40 pounds of pressure off your knees and hips .

That’s 4 not 40 :-)

I feel knee pain but that’s because I had a fall at the end of Jan and fractured my kneecap and tibial plateau along with cartilage tears. I had surgery April 7 and rehabbing from that but still having pain. I started a reboot 2 days before surgery to help myself as much as possible as I know every pound lost is 4 lbs off my knee. What could cause joint pain is low Vitamin D (D3). The first time I did this protocol I became rather ill and ultimately found I had severely low Vitamin D (it acts more like a hormone due to its anti inflammatory effects. ) I’m very conscientious now about my nutrient levels so you may want to get a blood test and check such things as mine also revealed an elevated platelet count which showed inflammation. I realized the importance of doing such tests while on this protocol in spite of following it exactly as defined including the supplements. I found the “medically supervised “ part to simply be too lax such that one needs to be in charge of their own health.

If your Ip clinic is in a physicians office see if you can get a consultation with the doctor.

Speaking from experience, when you lose weight, your skeletal structure has to make adjustments. We may experience some joint pain along our journey, but for most, it is temporary and good. Our skeletal structure tends to get out of whack when we carry extra weight, so, like growing pains, minor joint pain from weight loss is usually a good thing and it’s usually only temporary. If the pain is so bad you can’t walk, or it lasts more than a couple of weeks, call your doctor. Otherwise, my dr told me to take some Thankslenol/Advil for the pain if it was bad, and then it went away. (This is just based on my experience with my dr and what she told me - seek your own medical advice when you feel it is necessary)
