I literally don’t care if i eat anymore . it’s just to stop my belly from growling . literally zero pleasure in a meal& if there is . there’s guilt. I eat the same thing constantly bcuz it has to be easy & fast & stop the “b” ( my belly) from grumbling. I HATE preparing food . I’ve never Eaten anything worth the time and expense that it takes to prepare it… Unless of course someone else makes it. My absolute favorite thing to make is a reservation I offer you no help . sorry . but i feel your pain .

It’s a hard mental change to eat to live when you used to live to eat ‍♀️

@illness time to eat to live ! Mental outlook is key. Sounds like you’re in the dumps. I’m no chef but I can chop green onions and mushrooms to sauté and add to soup mixes. Most of powdered mixes aren’t palatable WITHOUT adding more to it. Yes it takes time however if one is determined to get weight off- keep eyes on prize

@carpetbag4987 I’m good . it’s been almost a year& I’ve been at -75 since Oct , basically maintaining. . I was just being honest . it’s how i feel . I could paint a roses n sunshine pic . lol but . well that wouldn’t be me  It’s just a reality that I can never eat like i want to or without it being an entire thought process

@illness planning is definitely part of success plan. We all have days like that. I revert to angel hair slaw w dukes light mayo plus some mustard for zip and add a pkg of sweet & spicy trail mix. Gets me through lunch.

@carpetbag4987 I get tired of my entire life “planned” around what’s going in my mouth . if i could just quit eating completely  your right . i’m having one of those days . time to log off ✌️

@photima Janeva's @bramble98 Recipes Cookbook - Phase 1 She has posted several of her recipes in the files
by (1.9k points)
I understand! But it’ll definitely give you a variety of meals and snacks when you’re able to get it.
by (6.5k points)
@photima There are thousands and thousands of files on the IP site it is unreal how many recipes are available without cookbook
by (1.7k points)
@photima Maybe you should consider joining this FB page. It’s a good resource for people who are unable to keep up with the cost of IP, and who choose to stop buying/weighing in at their clinic

Also Pinterest has tons of ideas for phase 1 recipes

I agree with you @photima. I just try to think of my goal and the reasons for it. I don’t want to get diabetes, I want to look good for my Sons grad, I want to chase my grandson around, I want to wake up energized. So this is making up for all my indulgences. I enjoy mashed cauliflower, veggies with different spices is a treat, I really like the spinach blended in a chocolate drink with ice, feels like I’m cheating:) I try the suggested recipes too. My only problem is I hate cooking so it’s a real struggle to cook everyday.

Always remember your why. I trust to take my normal recipes and adjust them to protocol. That way I feel like this can just be my new normal. I love to cook though so that's helpful. This is as much mental as a diet. Our heads need to figure it out

Time to pull out your imagination and use it in the kitchen. I am having a blast mixing up new things! I look at what veggies I have and then Google recipes using them. For instance, I just made an awesome baked broccoli cauliflower frittata. I find a recipe where the main ingredients are on protocol. I will then remove, or alter, the non-protocol ingedients to make the recipe fit. This particular recipe said to bake in a 9x13 pan. By doing so, the fratata was only about 1/2 inch thick. Then the light bulb came on and I realized with baking it a little longer to make it firmer, it could then be "bread" for a tuna sandwich! As @bramble98 Protein is more than just a diet, and is a map to a new way to live, using this time to learn how to eat well is how you make the journey successful. Try Google. I use this method all the time! Sharing the recipe with my friends.

I made some of the roasted red pepper and cauliflower soup that Janeva shared in her group recently. It’s been a nice change to get in 2 cups of veggies at lunch or as a side with chicken for dinner

@blynn I made it today. It’s enough for lunch for 6 days. Love it!

For me, I created a few go to's: Lunch - alternated between IP's trail mix, southwest curls, dill zippers that topped my salad with romaine, iceberg, leaf lettuce and spinach with 2 cups of cut up vegetables: dill pickles, celery, cucumbers, peppers, radishes, red onion Dinner - 1) fish tacos: any type of white fish or tuna with cabbage, onion, a little Walden Farms mayo on lettuce leaves 2) turkey burger sliders: 4 little burgers on lettuce leaves with onion, dill pickles, spicy brown mustard, and no sugar added ketchup 3) turkey wraps - sliced deli turkey wrapped around dill pickles with spicy brown mustard 4) chicken strips with sauted peppers, mushrooms, cabbage and a little soy sauce Frozen riced cauliflower with fresh parsley and cracked pepper added to IP's chicken soup - awesome. Special treat is roasted veggies - cabbage, spagetti squash, zucchinni, mushroom, and brussel sprouts with spicy brown mustard Before IP, I would not eat dill pickles, brussel sprouts, mustard, radishes, . and never roasted veggies

Stir frys are my go too! Easy Peasy! I use frozencauliflower rice or shredded cabbage for my base, throw in any veggies that are protocol, a little of Braggs Aminos or soy sauce!

I sneak veggies into everything: stewed rhubarb (sweetened with WF strawberry syrup) over pancakes or vanilla pudding or blended in a vanilla shake. Spinach blended in shakes or wilted under a piece of grilled meat. Shredded zucchini to make mug cake cookies or in pancakes (you honestly can’t taste it! ). I make meatloaf and meatballs using shredded zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, celery, spinach - cook the veggies first, chop up finely and mix into the meat before cooking. My go to lunch salad for the past 3 weeks has been chopped kale with shredded jicama and topped with the trail mix - I use whatever dressing I make that day or with WF thousand island. I’m a huge fan of making fries with turnips, jicama, rutabaga, or celery root - we eat fries 3 times a week. You’ve got to try to mix it up to be sustainable.
