I just got diagnosed with double pneumonia at hospital last night, is it a good idea to get off protocol while I’m taking all my antibiotics and recovering? I’m basically bed bound at this point. Want to make sure protocol won’t mess with my healing?

Absolutely do what you need to do to get better. I would forego the IP packets until you are better. However, if you have a choice between two things, you can always go with the lower carb choice. Lean proteins and healthy veggies, if you are up to eating. Omelet over cereal, etc. Hope you feel better real soon!

If it were me I would not worry about protocol and just get yourself well. Pneumonia is very serious and you don’t want to mess around with that. The diet can wait.

Get well. IP will still be there when you are well!

As a pharmacist and coach the answer is yes. You must recover.

No reason you can’t stay on plan. Just add some broth or more protein if necessary. Put your veggies in a smoothie or make sorbet with a packet. Feel better soon.

Do not worry about protocol when fighting double pneumonia. You can restart when well. Your health is 1st.

I just had pneumonia in the fall. My coach recommended get off protocol and focus on health. That being said, I stuck pretty close to it.
