I would like to suggest that before technical and/or procedural comments such as "Sure, it's OK (or not) to have all 3 packets at once", coaches start the post with 'COACH' so we can know if advice is supported officially from IP trained personnel or just one of us laypeople being helpful with our experience. Of course, I don't mean personal preference commentaries such as "I LOVE the brownies - I dunk them in my coffee! " or "Put cinnamon on the vanilla crispy square and heat in microwave for 5 seconds and it tastes like a cinnamon bun". What say you, Admins?

What is the question?
by (6.8k points)
Can we have Coaches identify themselves when posting?
by (2.6k points)
@makalu34365 I would just like to identify whether the advice that someone is giving me is coming from Someone trained and taught directly for by the a protein as a coach or it's just someone who thinks they're being helpful

@thurber774 ah I see. Completely agree. Some say things with such authority yet it is just from a sample size of one.

There are just as many coaches giving out incorrect info as clients doing the same.
by (2.6k points)
@footrope just as many? Wow! That's disconcerting. I appreciate you letting us know that! How do you know the ratio? What is your idea regarding how this can be corrected?
by (34k points)
@thurber774 I have been following these IP groups for 8+ years. There are MANY wonderful coaches who are properly trained and pass on correct info to their clients. There are many who arenot trained and whise clinics di not stayuodated with IP changes and new developments. They use phase sheets that have been outdated for years, give outdated protocol advice. The only training they pass on to coaches is to weigh clients and sell food. Alternatively, there are clinics and coaches who choose to change protocol thinking somehow they know better than IP. Because clinics are independently owned, oversight is limited. FYI - While there are a few coaches in these groups, by and large the responses are almost always from clients.

@footrope wow! I had no idea. Thank you for the information!

@footrope how can we tell who is who and what is what? Are you a trained, updated coach?
by (34k points)
@thurber774 You cannot tell.

@thurber774 congratulations on your success. It looks like you don’t need any advice. Awesome results! I see conflicting advice people post from their coaches. My rule has been protocol is to follow the sheet. If I deviate from it I am taking a chance. Just my two cents.
