REALLY REALLY REALLY Need some encouragement. I look at the mountain of weight I have to lose in the mirror and it just looks so insurmountable to me-almost like it will never happen or it will take forever and a day. I’ve never had this much weight to lose before (meds) I get so very despondent and it takes all my strength and my son’s graduation in June to barely keep me going. I feel like what’s the point I’m never going to do it. It’s just too much weight. I’ve started so many times and given up because it just seems too much. I’m so scared I’ll still look the same come June because what difference can 4. 5 months possibly make? So I’m reaching out for help I tend to find success stories most inspiring and I figure if I hear some success stories they could keep me going. Would anyone mind posting their SW and end weight, how long it took, how tall you are? Many success stories miss out some of those details. I know we are all different and will lose at different paces but please indulge this struggling IPer. My first goal is to lose 75 pounds (I know that won’t happen by June) and eventually 100 pounds. CW-239 GW 1- 165 GW2- 140 Height 5’ 4. 5” I really would appreciate it.

What have you tried? Pick the parts that you have been able to follow through with and start there. Just like any other addiction, you have to want it enough to work for it. Just saying it publicly the first step. Build from there. Set a small goal and achieve it. Like today I'm going to drink 4 glasses of water. Mini goals. Small steps still get you moving in the right direction. Keep with it and feet become miles, minutes become days, and days become months. New habits are not made overnight! You can do anything you put your mind to. Go for it!

You have got this! Be true to yourself by following the program - it works! Get support from your coach and look at your weekly weight loss. You will get there because of your want for a change. This is your journey. The more you put in, the more you will get out.

Hi @makalu34365! First, I want to give you a big ‘ol virtual hug and say I get it, and it’s ok to be overwhelmed and a little scared. What if you just focus on the first steps. One day at a time. Make a commitment to yourself to not think about 4 weeks from now, to just think about today and to try. What if you say “you know what, I’m going to try this and be 100% committed for 2 weeks”. And during that 2 weeks you don’t worry about if it’s working or the mountain ahead that you feel like you have to climb, you just focus on the next small task at hand (grocery shopping, planning your next meal, taking your vitamins, drinking water. whatever it may be). And just give yourself that 2 weeks (or even a 4 week commitment if you feel ok with that). And just trust the process. Trust yourself to do it. And just take baby steps. I can very much relate to you, and I can absolutely promise that if you just try the program and trust, you will start to feel more encouraged as you see results (no matter how small) on the scale. Take deep breaths, focus on the next small, program related step at hand, and make a commitment to be open minded and to try for a set period of time - we will all be rooting you on! You can totally totally do it! And you are worth trying this for!

I lost 50 pounds in the 4. 5 months and I was one of the slow losers! Don’t think about how long it will take you. Think about shopping for new clothes because the ones from today don’t fit anymore. Think about being healthier. Think about how slamming hot you’ll look this summer! You got this!

Hello Lucy Ann. In your post you mentioned forever and a day for you to lose weight. What do you have to remember is that forever and a day will eventually come. Where do you want to be when it comes. I started the middle of August I am down 60 pounds. I have another 60 to go. So I know where you are coming from. I just said to myself @plucky where do you want to be in six months. Just take it day by day. Don’t like your thoughts cause you to give up. As I always say onward and downward. All the best to you

I lost 15lbs in the first 3 weeks and 24. 8 (can’t it just be 25? lol) in 6 weeks. I should lose about 150 total but I’m not thinking about that. I’m just celebrating my victories. I’m mentioning it, because I really think it helps me that I eat all sweet stuff as opposed to their pasta and soups. I get the salty at dinner and in my salad dressing. That’s just me though and maybe in a month I will change it up.

It is a tough commitment, no matter how much weight you need to lose. It's tough eating 3oz or grilled chicken or fish and 2 cups of steamed broccoli while everyone else is enjoying pasta, pizza, whatever, around you. But I have learned to take it 1lb at a time. A pound lost is so much better then a pound gained. Those single pounds eventually add up, becoming 5lbs, 10lbs, and onward. Doesn't matter how long it takes. It took me 5 months, and several slip-ups to lose 25lbs. It took a long time for me to see any changes, but when they finally appeared, it felt so good. Buy a few pairs of inexpensive pants in progressively smaller sizes, it will motivate you along the process. There is nothing like putting on a pair of jeans that you couldn't get up your legs, but now they fit, or even too big! The time you're on Phase 1 is such a small part of your entire life, but the benefits will last for the rest of you life. Don't be discouraged, this is a marathon, not a sprint. Remember, you will always have the support of this group! And. You. Can. Do. It!

Hey girl! Just know that we all start at day one. I have been doing this for six months plus one week. And I am officially down 95 pounds. If you take it one day at a time, one meal at a time. I promise it works. The short term weekly goals are what get me through. You can totally do it.

@ziagos zero exercising. Don’t forget about your salt. I have maybe 2-3 restricted packets a week.

I’m 5’7” Started mid Sept 2019 SW 227 CW 181 I veer off the program slightly here and there. A friend told me “sometimes you have to bend so you don’t break” Overall I feel SO much better. Sometimes I get cranky having to do so much prep, chopping veggies, what protein I’m having for dinner, but nothing in life is 100% rainbows and ponies. You can do this! Take it one day, one meal, one glass of water at a time

I started at 254 . now 165 . it was slow going took me almost a year but it got so much easier as time passed . break your goals down to a more manageable number . that way you have more chances to celebrate the small victories . before this I had tried all the other diets out there and none worked for me . but for some reason this one did . don't beat yourself up through the process . if you have a bad day . acknowledge it and move on with the program the next day . for most of us it took years to put on the weight so it makes sense that it will take awhile to get it off . I never worried about the speed for me it was slow and steady which I think in the long run will help me keep it off . it truly is a lifestyle change forever so the longer it takes just think of it as more time to adjust . use the support of your friends and family and you will be at your goal before you know it . you got this!

Everyone loses at different rates. I followed the progress of others and found at least an average of 10 pounds a month (yes it could be more or less). So in 4 months you could be down 40 pounds or more. If you follow the plan you will lose but as easily as it comes off you can put it back on. It’s a life change. It’s a step to making you feel better about yourself. Good luck

Don’t focus on June. Focus on today. Literally get through one hour, one meal, one day. Every ounce or pound counts.

I’ve had my issues losing weight. I actually used to be skinny until a terrible divorce hit me several years ago. I think more of our weight is on “our shoulders” than on our entire body. I think we must care more for ourselves than we are used to doing. I started IP in Oct and lost 8 lbs, then I quit over the holidays. Gained it all back and then some. I finally made up my mind this week to just stop eating to make me feel better. It’s a mind thing. Stick with it! You are not alone! The reward will be worth it!
by (310 points)
@makalu34365 We need to feel that we are worth it!

I’m 5’4” and start weight was my heaviest ever at 240. just so tired of clothes not fitting and in this age of constant photos, not recognizing myself anymore! So fed up and nothing I tried worked, was close to resigning myself to it when I heard success stories with IP and my local Pharmasave was sponsoring it. the support of a pharmacist and doctor was super important to me since I’ve had breast cancer in the past. started Sept 2019 and now down 34. 2 lbs! I lose slowly but I don’t care as long as I’m losing and not gaining. I figure a slower loss will give my body more time to adjust so not gain it back. My first goal is 185 and I plan to give myself time to get my head around the change and then keep going down. I have no idea what final weight I will be comfortable at as I was last under 150 in my 20’s and I’m now in my early 60’s. I plan to correct any gains immediately so Never have to deal with being heavy again! I want to feel great in my clothes and be able to walk into ANY clothing store and find my size! I love that I’m able to wear most of my clothes now! Seriously, this protocol is fantastic & the only way I can lose and I’m so happy I started! It really works! It’s, for the most part, been quite easy. I haven’t stressed about Christmas or vacations. I enjoy within reason then get right back at it! I like the limits of the protocol as I’m no good at setting my own limits! I hope you will love the program and the results as much as I do! Don’t look at the mountain, take it in smaller 30 lb or so goals.! Whatever you weigh in June will be less than you weigh today!
