hi there!  I have my consultation on the 25th just looking to see what people wish they knew before starting this journey. hi there! I have my consultation on the 25th just looking to see what people wish they knew before starting this journey. Do you think there were things you could have done to better prepare yourself for this, things you wish you bought? What would have helped you before starting if you could go back and start again!

Meal prep is key. Get a scale and measure. There will be a sheet that converts to ounces, I have it taped to my door. I use it all the time. I hope they let you try some products. That’s what hooked me, if they tasted bad I wasn’t going to spend my money on it. I get anything chocolate!

If you can start limiting carbs and cut out dairy now- you’ll see results so much faster.

What I didn’t know when I started the first time was that you don’t ever fully go off the program. Even when you reach your goal you should expect to stay in the maintenance phase. Going back to a “regular” diet means gaining. It took me a long time to reconcile that. I did not phase off properly after I met my goal the first time. I rebelled and thought I could maintain by eating healthy. It didn’t work. The scale crept back up. I agonized over whether to Do the whole program again and be committed to a life-time of maintenance. Ultimately I came to the conclusion that no matter what I do, I’m going to be fighting my weight. I have been my entire life. I may as well be winning at it.

Don’t be afraid to try new/different things(vegetables) &/or methods of preparation.

I would have bought Janeva’s cookbook when you get the approval to do the program. Lots of great recipes to make with the packets. There are also many recipes without needing the packets as well.

Don’t get discouraged. There may be weeks where you don’t see movement on the scale and you might even gain a lil bit. Remember that inches count. Keep up on your food journal, try different foods some I never heard of and they are delish. Get the cookbook early, I got it two months after I started and it was a game changer for me. Meal prep and this group is great. Very supportive and you learn from different people. This program works. Good luck. you got this

Always keep a few bars with you in case you end up running late or around food you can’t eat. You’ll always be prepared. I also bring a bag of raw veggies with me everywhere in case I get hungry unexpectedly. and drink plenty of water. The lemon water enhancer is so good. I keep a box in my lunch bag and use one packet per liter bottle of water. I think they’re a little too strong in the small 16. 9 ounce bottles. Don’t forget your vitamins. You can choose the chocolate magnesium chews instead of the horse pills in the bottle. Ask your clinic about them. It’s like having 2 delicious chocolate treats a day

@lame87127 this is so on point! They only thing I realized after doing the chews was that they have carbs. Towards getting closer to goal and things slow down a little carbs matter.

And just remember, it’s not always gonna be easy, but it’s definitely worth it! Do this for YOU and ignore all the negative comments

Plan meals for at least 3 days. look for recipes. Janevas book is great. Journal. I did it by hand. I learned better that way, especially during phase 3 and 4. I never depended on bars or chips. I wanted meals instead of wasting on treats, though did carry an emergency bar. I knew the scale lies so didn’t get upset with slight variations. Once goal is met, I wouldn’t let things get out of control and started again at 5 pounds.

Start cutting back on carbs and sugar now so your body doesn’t get such a shock. Once you start, don’t cheat, not even a bite. Spend the money for nice fresh vegetables and the best protein, you deserve it. Good luck. The program works, if you work it. Take all the supplements and drink the water.
