You’ll need to be a little more careful about making sure you’re getting your protein in each day- but it’s totally doable. Tofu is approved protein- though after 7 weeks now I recommend eating eggs/egg whites as well

@erasion164 I just watched the Netflix Documentary “Game Chargers” and I have followed Dr. E the forks over knives show and I feel pulled to believe the science behind it. So confused

This chart has been my "go to" for choosing my vegetarian protein. I have also been having the branch chain amino acid drink 1x per day.

To consider. VEGETARIAN MEAT REPLACEMENTS Meat Substitution Options for Vegetarian These options keep you in ketosis and provide a similar loss rTe as those eating meat. - 8 oz firm or extra firm tofu - Eggs as meat shown on the phase sheet under poultry 6 eggs with 2-4 whole eggs and the rest as egg whites) - Two unrestricted packets Plant-based Meat Alternative Products These plant based meat substitutes (see photo) add carbs, keeping you out of ketosis. Losses are slower much like when following the alternate phase 1 for athletes and type 1 diabetics which also adds carbs.

@lita7 This is the list that we created to hand out in my clinics. We work with a lot of vegetarian clients and have had great success!

@lita7 these products were recommended by Ideal Protein scientific support. You will stay in ketosis as long as you need the appropriate amount. With the new protocol we don’t exceed 30 g per day.

@allcot30178 If too many 0 carb extras (over 4) can take you out of ketosis as can a few hidden carbs, how can meat replacements with carbs not affect ketosis? The rest of the dieters are not adding any of those carbs when they eat meat?

@footrope You might want to ask scientific support. They are the ones that approved these items.

@allcot30178 Good idea. We all get freaked out if there is onion or carrot listed in broth as the 12th ingredient, yet we can add 7+carbs in a meat substitute product and our ketosis is fine. Doesn’t seem to make sense. I will check. Thx
