Has anyone phased off for a vacation to be able to have a drink or 2? How much on the plan did you stay to not gain while phasing off? Did you go right back the day you were back from vacation?

I went off protocol a few days before I left on vacation eating only 1 IP food a day. had salads and protein. stayed away from breads. had drinks every day. gained 1 lb. after one week! . went right back to the plan.

@succussion I talked with my coach about going on vacation. and that I would like to be able to have a drink. and this is what she recommended. worked for me.

Yes! It is wise to come out of ketosis as alcohol can vary and be dangerous. Continue to make good choices and drink plenty of water. I personally try to add things like sweet potatoes, carrots, and some fruit which are still healthy. Then literally back at it. I might gain a lb or two, but usually throw in intermittent fasting and right back on track. Life is short! Enjoy and make this last!

Did not phase off. Ate mostly protein & veggies, had some bread, cheese, wine (10 day European vacation, drank daily, split a bottle of wine with my husband, or had vodka Soda drinks). Gained 8. 5#, hit IP on first day back, & got right back into the plan. Lost it again within two days. Just don't go crazy. It probably helped that we walked everywhere.

I stopped IP Dec 21 - Jan 5. This was planned when I started. Vacation to Florida and Mexico. I didn’t really phase off other than decreased IP products the day before and first day. I watched what I ate and didn’t go hog wild on carbs and dairy. Still ate sensibly and portion controlled. Unbelievably had no fried foods. Proud of myself for that. Not that I tried , but just didn’t think about it. Did drink alcohol most days. Once again moderation. A couple too many margaritas one day. Lol. I set my weigh in the Monday we came back. Gained 5. 5 lbs. Didn’t see much difference. I jumped right back on that Monday and lost 10. 8 in my first week. Still going strong.

Yes. Make good food choices , but realize that alcohol will hit you WAY harder and be careful.

@flank I had no problems. Drank half a bottle of wine at lunch, half at dinner (or a few vodka sodas). Did not hit me any harder than it would have after not having any alcohol for 4 months.

This is the 2nd time I'm phasing off to go out of town. The 1st time I was gone for 2 weeks came back and started back on phase 1 the next day. I didn't go crazy while I was gone and still lost 2. 4 pounds. No issues getting back in it. I'm again phasing off as I'll be out of town starting 2/13 until the end of February. I'll continue to be aware of what I'll eat while gone so I don't undo the work I've done.

I did in November 1 week of phase 2, and 3 a few days of each. I started after Christmas because I wanted cookies too. It was easy to get back for me.

YES. was down 80 lbs after 6 mos in June went to all inclusive in Cancun for a week just stayed low carb and very active. stayed the same and went right back I am now down 140!
