Is it ok if you have a portion of your protein at lunch instead of having it all for dinner?

Yes. Just don’t go over the amount per day. You can split it between all three meals if you really wanted

@brume i was told not to. Its all in the science and your amount of protein at each meal.

Shouldn’t be a problem as long as you end up eating the right amount overall

I break mine up through the day, otherwise; I would never get it down. 10lbs down today - my first week.

I personally prefer a little protein (egg whites) for breakfast, and then the rest for dinner! Keeps me full throughout day

@wedding6 I like to eat 1 or 2 eggs at lunch

@prescriptive97 IP has sent numerous communications directly to coaches and clients clarifying splitting protein is fine. It recently posted it on their website's FAQs.

It’s 4-6 oz of protein a day correct? 6 years ago use to be 8 oz
by (12.9k points)
@potpie In the US is used to be 8 ounces of uncooked protein as well. then they found that 4-6 ounces is adequate. In Canada, the federal guidelines don’t allow them to do less than 8. (Not sure why)

@garnettgarnette I have not been able to find where it says RAW for the new guidelines. The old one said 8 oz raw. New just says 4-6 ozs. That's my story and i'm sticking to it.

@clos988 they always say measure every meat raw .

@prescriptive97 I would like to talk to "they".

@prescriptive97, always been told to measure meats uncooked , otherwise add 2 ounces to measurements after cooking.

I tend to do tuna, pickles, celery, and mayo for lunch, or big mac in a bowl! Life is too short ;p

@ziagos ooooohhh
by (820 points)
@ziagos Walden’s mayo?
by (9.1k points)
The tiniest bit. I got southwest and added rosemary. I tried making my own too.

@ziagos what is Big Mac in a bowl? Sounds delish!

I found it w/ google! BMiaB + Ideal Protein

@handyman it’s a salad with cooked ground hamburger meat (or turkey), diced pickles, chopped raw onions and Walden farms thousand island dressing. I think the Walden farms dressing is gross on its own but somehow when put into this salad it’s delicious. Just make sure to count the dressing as one of your “extras”

By tuna, i assume you mean fresh, not canned , correct? iN Canada, canned tuna is not allowed to my knowledge
by (3.1k points)
@idolism wow. I didn’t realize that about canned tuna. I’ll have to check. I just assumed it was ok. Thanks

Many people split their protein and have no issues. If you are splitting and start to stall, having it all in the evening is something you can do to change it up.

When i started in 2010 plan had to be followed 100% no alterations. timing of meal is important for your body metabolism I maintained loss of 5lbs a week.
by (11.5k points)
@driver20888 Griff oh I didn’t know this . So you have to eat at the same time ?
by (8.8k points)
@prescriptive97 My coach said stay same time. helped alot with hunger and loss. the key to losing is keeping metabolism operating smoothly. dont go over 4 hrs between meals/snack. Sample: worked great for me 7-8am breakfast 11-12 Lunch 2-3 pm snack 5-6 supper No eating 3 hours before bed.

Yes. You can even have some at breakfast. I highly recommend chicken breakfast sausage with no sugar added.
