I lost 120lbs 4 years ago. Have kept off 100 +/- . By making healthy choices and a few cheats here and there. Wife lost 87 lbs . She is maintaining with about 7 to 10 lbs gain back. It is a life choice to continue to eat healthy foods. If you go back to the old ways of eating expect them to have the results prior to stating program. Were not going back to that way of life. we eat alot of recipes out of Janeva's cook book still enjoy them. Good luck stay on healthy side.

@adsorbent98 if most are honest the one who's gain go back to eating the old ways that made them heavy in first. Place. When we enjoy a splurge meal, we eat really light healthy the next day or two. This allows your body to process and burn off the extra. We live in phase 3 most days and like it. you'll find what works for you and stick with it . Ask your coach for your BMR number and stay close to that number of calories for the day.

@adsorbent98 basal metabolic rate. It calculates the amount of calories you need consume to lose , gain, or maintain weight. Based on gender, age, height, activity level. This is for phase 4 after you have reached goal and are in maintenance. You can Google BMR Calculator.

I lost 65 pounds 3 years ago. Have kept 45 off. If you go back to your old habits it’ll all come back. It happened to 3 of my friends.

My husband lost over 60 pounds, not stopping at phase 1, once reaching goal ( question kind of asks that), but went through phases 2 and 3 and set a successful maintainence, now life long with a few changes 3 years ago. and has stayed within the same 3-5 pounds.

I lost 60 pounds 4 years ago and have stayed pretty close all these years. I go back on and off phase 1. I don’t stay in phase 4 like you are supposed to. I dive back into pizza and cocktails every summer and struggle through the winters.

I lost 30 pounds 3 years ago. I continue with protein donuts/oatmeal or kays apple cinammon cereal/eggs for breakfast, phase 1 salad and quest chips for lunch, protein/veg dinner and built bar at night for most part. I indulge on occasion with almonds, low carb wrap, egg/ chicken/tuna salad and low carb dark chocolate. pretty much all I ever eat. I have stayed within 3 pounds of my lowest weight

I am no longer on this plan but I was about 2-3 years ago. I have gained back about 10-15lbs which is maybe to be expected. However I do work out a lot now so could be some muscle gain. It helped me to loose that initial weight for sure. If you maintain some kind of plan and watch carbs etc you can do it. You just can’t go off the rails. I went back on the diet once for 3 months just for a refresher. However now I clean eat 85 % of the time. And 15% I make wise choices. It’s about balance, watching what your eating and staying active.

I lost 60 lbs over 2 years I ago and have kept it off. I feel the key changes I made were consistent journaling and lots of walking!

I think the key is to realize you can’t ever eat like you did again. That is how I got there to begin with. Continually keep in mind what you are eating.

So my coach talks about ‘The range of happiness’ he equates it to the first week weight loss. If you lost 5 lbs your range is 5 lbs. As soon as you hit that 6th lb you go back on the diet for one week. In order for this to work you have to weigh yourself every day. It seems like a great idea to me.
