I’ve gained 50# back.  So I’m going back to phase 1.I’ve gained 50# back. So I’m going back to phase 1. my question is. Can one stay on phase 1 forever. eventually there will be a point where you would stop losing and just be maintaining. As soon as carbs were re-introduced, I started to gain it back. Any coaches here that can answer this question? Please!

Did you phase off and do maintenance? I worry about adding carbs back, hoping I can find my happy medium.

@victorie I did do the phases but I was just stumbling through it. Even my coach wasn’t sure of the phases. Especially phase 4. In phase 4. It says you can have a carb for breakfast. I asked how much of a carb. A slice of bread/ or a bagel. Both are carbs but one has a whole lot of calories while the other not so much

@victorie she wasn’t really sure what to say. Just that she would ask her area rep

@beitz67241 Omgosh, that’s a horrible comparison of carbs! My husband eats a Dave’s killer bagel almost daily (almost 300 calories and tons of carbs), I’m certain there are many breads out there with much fewer calories and carbs! Horrible comparison in my opinion.

@beitz67241 You are paying a HUGE amount of money to be properly prepared for maintenance. Don't accepT that kind of ineptness. There are very specific details of how to plan your daily eating in maintenance. Any coach that does not give you all the tools to be successful should not be taking your money.

@victorie yes I was trying to explain my position to her. A slice of bread has so many carbs and a bagel is loaded with carbs. Then you are also introduced to fruit. More carbs. bananas are hi carbs while blueberries have less. She realized what I was saying but didn’t have an answer

@beitz67241 maybe there are very experienced people in here that can help guide you!

No, it is a huge caloric deficit and is not meant to be followed once at goal weight. You no longer will have the fat to support your body's caloric needs and will truly begin to starve yourself.

@footrope this is disappointing to hear. I did so well with out the carbs I lost my weight but as soon as I introduced carbs it wasn’t long before I started gaining back. I don’t want to do Keto because it uses high fat

@beitz67241 You CAN follow a low carb eating plan. that is entirely different than staying on phase 1 which is a very low calorie, low fat plan. Proper keto is NOT high fat. It is fat for satiation and more protein than fat. Did your coach calculate your BMR so you know how many calories to eat each day and then set your macros for daily food tracking! You need that info in place to be successful maintenance is very specific and takes more knowledge and more work than the loss phases.

@beitz67241 We all have a magic number for calories, carbs, fat, and protein and the ratios of those things to each other that works for us. I would suggest using a carb counting app on your phone. Log your food and track your carbs, so you can see what actually works for you. It will take some time and effort but in the end, you need to know whether your can maintain your weight with 50g, 75g or 100g of carbs a day. or if it's some other number. Your coach should be able to guide you, but because we are all so different, the formula for you will probably need to be discovered by you as well.

@footrope no she didn’t do that at all

@beitz67241 Tell them you want some money back!  If you are still going there, I would complain loudly to the clinic owner and not see that coach again. The new plan started in Jan has a very different phase 2 (which is old 2 and 3 together). Coaches have to teach you to plan your meals using macros now before you get to maintenance. If you stick with it, you should have a very different experience.

@footrope I actually told her about the new plan. She didn’t know anything about it. I heard it through this group. Asked her to call me when she found out about it and I am still waiting to hear from her lol

@footrope my medical pays for a dietician. If I were to make an appointment with the dietician what should I say in regards to low carb eating. Would she be able to do a meal plan or be able to tell me how much carbs/ protein/ fat per day?
by (34k points)
@beitz67241 Yes, she should be able to set a plan for you unless she does not support the benefits of low carbing, in which case she may try to talk you out of it.

@footrope nope. Not at all. Low carb eating is the way. For me anyway

@beitz67241 Then yes, the nutritionist should be an excellent resource.
