My coach recommended that I add in walking. But since doing that, I have been in a long stall. In your opinion, did walking slow down/ speed up weight loss? Just a little more info. I'm about 15lbs from goal n was very active prior to starting ip if that matters.
My coach recommended that I add in walking.

It slowed me down actually . At least when I was walking for one hour . Perhaps walk for 30 mins and it will be ok ?

The last 15-5 lbs are the hardest and slowest to come off. It’s like that for almost everyone. Now unless your walking 20 miles a day. Your fine. Just keep focus.

Going on 4 weeks at the same weight. somethings off

@saltarello you could try upping your packet the days you walk. Or maybe stop walking.

I have heard you shouldnt walk in the first stage?

@hayton walking is fine, just no strenuous workouts since the diet is so low calorie.

@hayton I was told that it’s fine as long as you can still hold a conversation while doing it. I’ve been walking, hiking and biking since my 3rd week on the program and I’m down 30 lbs, 15 from goal. I don’t care if it takes more time because I feel like I’m “walking off the crazy”, especially with all this isolation.

@femineity amen! Im down 70 lbs. 10 away from goal and since this all started myson and I have been hiking. for our sanity.

Any diet that suggests not exercising is not healthy. You might be building muscle which is more dense.

She did say I was holding on to the muscle. I wondering if this is what's happening
by (2.1k points)
@saltarello it’s a good thing. Muscle burns and revs up metabolism. Keep in mind these keto diets are not just about the numbers. I’ve been holding at a 5-6 lb fluctuation but clothes keep getting looser!

Same. My uniform is baggier but I dont know how to measure so I'm not sure if I'm losing inches or I'm at the same spot.

I stopped walking for a bit, which helped me. I added in squats and arm exercises

I have been at the same weight for weeks, 10 lbs to go. Coach advised eliminating the restricted packet s from the routine. Down about 1. 3 lbs after 5 days. Worth a shot if you haven’t tried that yet.
by (6.4k points)
I have a restricted maybe 3 times a week when I'm off. That's the only time I have time to warm up the brownie in the morning. Maybe ill have to cut that out.

Im 8# from goal and have been stalled for 5 weeks. Im so depressed!
by (6.4k points)
O wow. that has to be frustrating
by (2.7k points)
@saltarello it was, because I was a big walker/hiker. Phase 1 is tricky. Once I started losing again, I started back up and it has been fine. I have 10 pounds to go to goal. I want it gone!

Walking will not affect your weight loss. You are so close to goal it may be due to different hormones causing the stall. Stick with it and keep in touch qith your coach. You'll get there!

It is true that the closer you get to your goal the slower the fat lose. You want to make sure you are losing fat and not too much muscle so slowing down is part of it. Adjust carbs some days to shock your system. I would lower some days to 20 - 25 gross carbs a day a few days a week . I have been walking since about two months into the program and doing 4 to five days a week. Week days about 3. 5 miles and between 5. 5 to 7 miles on weekends. Dont walk like you looking at flowers but don't speed walk race. 6 months and it goal at 77 pounds lost so I changed goal to 87. Has some slow weeks that were self inflicted to to the Christmas and new year holidays and some other events after those weeks. Remember it is not a sprint but a marathon. Thats my story that worked for me. Every one has their own story that does or does not work. Good luck!
