Does deviating from the sheet for 1-2 snacks or meals per week really ruin the diet? I’m on week 2. I lost 6 pounds the first week and I want to lose about 20 more. Today I went to a movie and really wanted some popcorn . Does anyone do this occasionally while sticking to the plan 95% of the time and still lose weight?

COST OF CHEATING The literal "cost of cheating when your cheat takes you out of ketosis. think of it this way and you may not think the cheat was "worth it" (literally not worth it! ) It takes 3-4 days to get back into ketosis. $4 per packet x 3 per day = $12 per day x 4 days = $48 in packets you have to buy just to get back to where you were before the cheat. Add to that the cost of your meat and veggies for four days, say $6 per day x 4 days = $24. Your popcorn, piece of cake, glass of wine, garlic bread, etc. set you back at least $72!

@footrope Thanks never thought of it quit that way but absolutely so true. We really must weigh the cost of giving into a temptation that only last seconds to minutes and cost us days and money.

One thing you can do is enjoy the smell of things. think of the positive things that are happening.

I never intentionally deviate from the plan. There will be times where it may be done. by accident and it will stall you. For example, I had some bok choy on Thursday and after I ate it I found out that it was sautéed with corn starch. I gained 2 pounds and have been stuck there since.

There is no magic. There is no secret. There is no better time than now. There is only the DESIRE to succeed, the WILL to make the right choices and the COMMITMENT to take action on improving our lives. We must make every decision for our love of those most important to us. especially ourselves. That is infinitely more special and long-lasting than a drink at an event or a piece of birthday cake at a party. The importance is that we are able to be there WITH people. Being able to do that healthier and longer is the greatest gift we can give. That is the most glorious celebration in which we can participate. Stay the course.
