This might sound silly, but one of my biggest fears is the hanging loose skin as I lose the weight. Is there anything I can do while losing to keep it from happening?

From what I’ve read no there isn’t much you can do. If you have hanging skin or not depends a lot on your age and how much weight you have to loose. Maybe some vitamin E?

@vernon ask your coach about collagen supplements

@devi I’ve been taking it and it didn’t help with my skin or my thinning hair

What about Biotin?

I take collagen and vitamin E. I haven’t had hair loss but if I did I would look in to Biotin.

@devi I’ll look into it. Thanks

Following. I'd rather have the sagging skin than the weight I had, but I'm wondering how I'm going to wear summer clothing. dont mind the arm excess skin as much as the thighs.

@nottingham I never had great legs and weight loss plus age has not been kind to my thighs. First off yoga type pants, capris and shorts do wonders! And my all tome favorite fashion hack is swimsuits with legs. They are comfortable and amazing! I feel great in them and nothing is hanging out. My after photo is my favorite pic. At the pool feeling fab! And no flappy thighs! Back is open and low cut.

I believe this is why people think we are ill. Collagen every day. I do the unflavored powder in my tea. There is some discussion that vitamin C should be taken WITH collagen. I do the vitamin C. It may be a waste, I don't know. It can't hurt. Ultimately, the loose skin improves.

I’ve been exercising to tone up while losing

@masquer I do something called Yogalates, which is a combination of yoga and Pilates in a heated (100 degrees) room. I do 4 times a week for an hour.

@motte has it helped?

@lycanthropy99351 Yes, definitely helped! It’s a total body work out. I feel much more toned, no more flab. My goal was 40lbs, I’m at 37lbs now.

Take collagen and every body type is different depending on how much you lose and your age. But don’t buy a bunch of expensive stuff people try to sell you. Give your body a full year after to adjust to the loss and some will tighten up

Exercising in the cool water (pool) helps shrink your skin.

I’m almost 54 yrs old and have been overweight my ENTIRE life - with lots of fluctuations . I lost 100+ lbs on IP in my first year and I took collagen the entire time. I am saggy, crepey and flabby. Every area of my body. Big time. I went to my dermatologist AND GP and both said that the collagen is great for joints and ligaments but due to the size of the skin organ collagen barely has an effect. Soooo, I waited a full year to see what happened with my skin, as I was advised that it takes a year for the skin to adjust when you rapidly lose weight. Verdict: I have had minimal change. I’ve resigned myself to the fact at my age and years of yo yo diets I’ve blown out my skin. My option would have to be skin removal. which I have mixed feelings about, but I’m giving myself this next year to lose a bit more weight and focus on muscle tone, and then I’ll revisit the idea of surgery. With all that said, I’ll take being a saggy mess over being obese any day!

Saggy skin rarely kills you. Obesity does kill you.
