I am 5 weeks in.  I am 67.I am 5 weeks in. I am 67. I have had two back fusions and dealing with another compressed disk. I have severe scoliosis. My neurosurgeon has been fantastic, so no problems there. Because of the back I do walking ( albeit limited). I am an on the go person, I watch grandchildren, quilt, make dolls, draw with colored pencils. In five weeks, eating the sheet, I have lost 8. 2 pounds, lost plenty of inches. I really feel like I should be loosing more weight. Any advice, suggestions? My coach is great. As a side note: I have had a hysterectomy, I am on blood pressure and cholesterol medication.

We must have started at the same time. I think everyone is different, the more you have to lose the faster it seems to come off at first. At least from what I’ve read. I just wanted to comment because I also have severe scoliosis and all the issues that come along with it. I haven’t really met a lot of people with the diagnosis. I’ve used it as my excuse for being bigger and less active, etc but finally decided to do do something and started IP on 1/13. I think if the scale and tape measure show loss, than you are on the right track. Keep it up!

Thank you, I sure needed an encouraging word. I really do try to stay active. I am not allowed on any equipment at the gym except the reciprocated bike. I will say even with a small weight loss, I can zip my jacket with ease and I do feel better. I am so disappointed the weight isn’t falling. Heck, I could eat some candy, drink and occasional soda and I gained nothing. Once I reached almost 200 pounds the scale never moved up! Now it won’t move down. Maybe the scale is broken!

This is off topic. or sort of. but my daughter has recently been diagnosed with scoliosis. What degree of curvature do you ladies have that you class as severe? And did either of you have surgery for it?

I had surgery in 1989, I was at 56 and surgery took me to 30. Over the years I’ve gotten worse and am back to about 53. Best of luck to your daughter, things have progressed and surgeries are more successful now.

Wow! 53 is very intense! We are sitting at 38 (she is 10) and the doctors are trying to figure out some other spinal issues she has going on before she has any surgery

@clue426 it is indeed. This diet has also helped me reduce my meds. Within days, before I had even lost 5 lbs, I was skipping my pain and anti inflammatory meds without even thinking about it. Prior to that I was like a clock, I could tell when it was almost time for my next dose. I’m only 5 weeks in and it’s changing my life already! Wish I had found IP sooner.

Oh I am so glad for you! Any amount of relief when you are dealing with that helps! And this improves other aspects of life too!

Are you getting enough water? I think your doing great! Keep at it!

I am committed, I usually get my water, though it is hard. I hate water. I use their packets and then drink some plain. My coach suggested upping my water. ugh! Maybe I should try.

@duvetyn982 yes I agree. Also teas you can drink too. I'm not a tea person but I drink my coffee and add my choc shake to it in the morning. I just bought the lemon enhancers which I really like. I mix it with 40 oz of water and I know if I drink that down I don't have much more to go! The mangosteen enhancers aren't bad but they aren't my fab either
