Looking for ADVICE: I am my own worst enemy. I know I am doing this for myself and getting healthy is my goal, but when I am alone for extended periods of time I struggle to stay on track. Around other people I am 100% protocol. This weekend my husband is going camp fishing so I will be alone. I am trying to plan on keeping busy but looking for advice for how you all stay focused and motivated when you struggle?

I've been doing this for a month and have been good. Try having your "cheats" be extra protein. I technically eat 1-2 extra hard boiled eggs a day, but I'm not cheating with sugar or carbs. And remember you're spending a lot of $ and still have an upcoming weigh in. Good luck!

So hard to stay on track sometimes! Yes, don't cheat, but if you do, eat protein or an extra IP bar. Prayers your way!

I eat when I’m hungry while staying on protocol. On weekends I usually eat a big breakfast and spread out my food throughout the day. When I’m home more I use that opportunity to cleanse, drinking more water, herbal cleansing tea, taking epsom salt baths and facials. I do cleaning and organizing inside and outside the house with my overall goals in mind.

Oh I forgot to add that I do allot of meal prepping when I have time alone at home. I make my favorite Janeva recipes to freeze and usually try something new to satisfy a craving.

I relate to this so much! I think it’s because I’ve spent so many years eating in secret/shame that when there’s an opportunity to do it my mind automatically goes to, “ok, what’re we having? ” Staying as busy as possible does help. You’re strong. If you weren’t strong you wouldn’t have gotten as far as you have.

@feller thank you for sharing! I have hidden my eating habits as well for years. Great advice. It's an addiction that I need to learn to overcome

I've been cutting up a protein bar into 3 servings and having one as a lil snacky. That and a bottle of water holds off my cravings for awhile

What is your WHY? Your WHY must be bigger than your BUT! You need a very compelling reason WHY you want to do this. If you do not find your WHY you will not make a WAY. What is your probable almost certain future if you make NO change? What will happen if you stay at your current weight or gain? How will this impact your life and your family? Make a list of all the reasons you don't want to lose weight and all the negative effects that will have on your life and your health. WRITE IT DOWN! What is your probable almost certain future if you DO make a change? What will happen if you lose weight and get to your goal! How will it impact your life and your family? Make a list of ALL the reasons you DO want to lose the weight and all the benefits you will have when you do. WRITE IT DOWN! Read your lists every day - morning, noon and night. Do this every day for a week and at any time you feel like eating off plan. Which list wins?

I found my eating was from boredom. I love to sew, quilt, knit etc. if that helps start a new project. Just saying.
