I have an international trip coming up in 3 weeks. I’d like to lose as much weight as possible before then, but this means being on phase 2 while on vacation. While I’m not opposed to bringing some IP foods, it may not be possible for me to get in all those veggies and salads while traveling, plus I’d like to sample the exotic foods! I won’t go crazy and will keep the food healthy for the most part, but I will have some cocktails, (vodka, sparkling water). I’m wondering if I should just start phase two and three before the trip so my body is more used to normal eating by the time I get there, and then pick up Phase one when I return, or lose another 10+ pounds first, watch what I eat a bit, and if I gain a few back, so be it.?

Phase off for your trip, alcohol is extremely dangerous. I know first hand, I though a couple vodka sodas would be okay, nope, I ended up nearly fainting, and lost my vision for about ten minutes my temperature got dangerously high and my family almost called an ambulance. I went on 2 trips while I was on phase 1 and my coach let me do a quick phase off, a week in phase 2 and a week in phase 3, then hop back on when you get back, I enjoyed my trips, food and drinks and actually had amazing results after getting back on, so in a way it’s a little boost for your body !

I went to Europe for 11 days, I simply ate healthy while I was there and didn't phase off. I ate mostly proteins and veggies for meals, though I did have some cruty bread bits with cheese, meat and wine for lunch often in Paris, and some things like peass (which I love) as my dinner vegetable, and of course vodka soda drinks in moderation (mostly). Walked all over the place! Jumped right back on phase one and it worked well for me!

Also all the people saying that you will practically die if you have a drink of alcohol is not true. It may depend on your metabolism. I literally split a bottle of wine at lunch each day with my husband, another at dinner. As soon as I got on the plane, I ordered drink, because I hadn't had any in a long time. Absolutely no problems other than catching a nice little buzz. If you're someone who's not had problems with alcohol before, you probably will not have problems now. That being said, I am somebody who really can drink a ton and not even get a hangover, so I may not be typical. I would just be careful, have a drink, if you feel like that's okay, consider another. Just don't pound them because it's possible that you will not be able to tolerate them as you did before you were dieting.

@dingy I’m one that had a terrible reaction after consuming some alcohol. I don’t recommend anyone doing it. I had such a severe reaction that my family called an ambulance and I was hospitalized overnight.

Start phasing off ASAP so you do not ruin a vacation with an upset stomach putting you in the bathroom for several days.

I'm also phasing off for my trip to India soon. I'm still losing on phase 2 so I think it's worth it to normalize. My couch recommended 2 weeks of phase 2 and 1 1/2 of phase 3.

@run60 very slowly 2 lbs a week. I am excited for the culture shock. I know it will be great. I just hope I can restrain myself with the amazing food.
