Actually my gut got better on this diet. I had inflammation in my joints and IBS problems and they went away on this diet

Yep. Me too.

@albemarle me too because we cut the carbs which cause the inflammation

It is often from too many if the gas producing veggies. Stick ti zucchini, yellow squash, spinach, mushrooms, etc for a week or so. Oroducys higher in sugar alcohols (IPA or IP) can cause some stomach distress. In more extreme situations, it is possible to develop allergies such as soy or whey.

@footrope thank u for responding . Not to be gross but it’s pretty extreme the smell and frequency . Gosh Idk what to do

At times I think it all depends on what vegetables you’re eating

Try adding a probiotic. Check the sugar alcohols in products. Look at your protein source. Eliminate soy for a few days. If no change, eliminate whey. Process of elimination. Nothing is wring.

Try digestive enzymes. They helped.
by (1.5k points)
@drollery2 do you recommend a certain kind ?
by (470 points)
I believe IP has some as part of the protocol. I use these as I already had a huge bottle. I also noticed that it got better when my body adjusted to the plan.

@drollery2 thank you . I’ve been on the plan for over a month

I thought it was from broccoli and cauliflower
by (4k points)
@variegated I eat a ton of cauliflower & I didn’t have a problem until this week (a month in). I did notice that adding broccoli in the same day made it worse. Thankfully, the constipation has subsided. I started taking the branch chain aminos last week and I think that may have helped.

I was fine until in about 2 1/2 months then I started getting gas and upset stomach. It’s not the vegetables I’m eating and the probiotics didn’t help me at all.
by (110 points)
@turnip I'm two months in and can't figure it out. I think its cauliflower or broccoli. I've been fine before this.
by (5.5k points)
@runnerup5 yes. Me too. I’ve changed nothing.

Constipation causes gas most of the time

Pay attention to the alcohol sugars as well as the other ingredients in the packets. I stick to the gluten free and unrestricted ones. Love the ready made vanilla and chocolate drinks, orange drink, raspberry gelatin and crispy squares. The chocolate pudding too. Look for products with fewer ingredients. The digestive enzyme and probiotic should also help. Please let us know how you are doing as you try different things.

I take a tsp of milk of Mag daily and citracil caplets with glass of water. Works well on all low carb diets I've been on. Keeps things moving so gas doesn't build up.

Got that natural funk. This is the ONLY reason I’m OK with being quarantined.

Yep. And constipated too. Smooth Move tea at night has been helping, and I think it tastes great too! I don’t crave honey or milk, like I usually have to put in hot tea.

Broccoli and cauliflower, and yes Sucralose! The low sucralose things don’t bother me as much, but the bars and water enhancer Oiy!
